I serve at a different restaurant and served the owners of this one today. They are a lovely and kind family, they informed me that that are doing renovations at the moment. I am excited to check out the Bun n Barrel after they finish!

Went by there yesterday. How long has it been closed? Any idea why? I did see a crew working on the building so something is up. Hope we don’t lose this wonderful landmark in San Antonio!

This place is really a burger joint. They do offer some items with brisket or you can order chicken fingers but really they specialize in burgers, fries and onion rings. I tried their chocolate milkshake and it was average. Husband had a burger and it was good but again, nothing special. Bun "n Barrel has been a San Antonio icon for quite some time but honestly I didn't find it to be that big of a deal. It wasn't a bad experience but with the limited menu I'd rather go somewhere else.

More expensive and fewer items on menu that the online menu says. The food is incredibly mediocre, and not at all worth the price.

A San Antonio landmark...and the service and reception w/ Noi is more than excellent!!! Great BBQ Sandwich and GREAT burgers! Love the feeling that is has been there so long and it is a part of SA food history.
