Came today for my birthday. We came for lunch. Construction was going on downstairs but they’re still open. Not many in the restaurant. Open tables everywhere but we had to wait for a table even though we made reservations. We were there for 90 mins and all we had in that time was our soup and salad… took an hour just to get that. We had timed it so that we’d have plenty of time to eat before having to pick up kids. An hour and a half in we finally got our lunch entree. Took forever for lunch. Food was pretty good but not great for fine dining. Bread for an opening starter was bland. House salad and clam chowder was really good, fries (hard to go wrong there) were good. Fish sandwich and avocado bacon burger were bland. Also, street parking for a minimum charge of $3/5 hours compared to their $20 gated parking lot. For the time spent, the overall ok food, the price for the expected experience… it wasn’t worth it.

I visited with a friend because I considered this a great place to introduce her to San Antonio. Unfortunately, the experience turned into a clear example of how a beautiful restaurant can be completely betrayed by its kitchen and service.
The evening started with a 15-minute wait despite having a reservation, and with the dining room at barely half capacity. Not a good sign.
We began with the so-called “tartare with bone marrow”, which was our second disappointment of the night.
There was no marrow, no bone, and frankly, no tartare. The meat arrived as a mix of fresh pieces and others that had clearly lost the cold chain, with a dull, greyish tone that no raw preparation should ever have. A proper tartare should evoke the classic structure: mustard, egg yolk, Worcestershire sauce, capers… None of that character, none of that depth of flavor was present. To make matters worse, the accompanying bread was cold, burnt, and clearly from earlier in the day—if not the day before. We asked for fresh bread and were given a second serving that was just as bad, if not worse.
The hummus itself was very good, well-seasoned and balanced, but the pita was a disaster: hard enough to genuinely risk a tooth if you weren’t careful. Marked on the grill, yes—but obviously reheated long before service and left to dry out. Again, hours or even days away from anything resembling freshly made.
For the main course, we ordered a ribeye medium rare, and it arrived almost fully cooked. It came with an “extra” of chimichurri butter, but the butter didn’t contain a single visible herb. It looked like clarified butter, completely devoid of flavor or identity. When we asked the server if that was really supposed to be chimichurri butter and mentioned that this wasn’t our first time there and we knew how it used to be served, she insisted that “this is how it comes.” It was obvious she knew it wasn’t true, and we did too.
In summary, the quality of the food has plummeted over the last year. It is genuinely sad to see such a beautiful, emblematic place in the city go downhill so sharply in both food and service, while stubbornly maintaining five-star restaurant prices. This used to be a place I was proud to recommend; now it’s one I would caution people about.

I wanted to share my recent experience. I left my bag at the restaurant and returned first thing the next morning to pick it up, but it was gone. I had called in advance and checked with multiple staff members when I arrived, but no one had any record of it being returned. This was surprising, as I expected a place like this to take lost items seriously. The staff did not seem concerned, and I received very little assistance in trying to locate my bag.
We were visiting from out of state, and despite that, no one offered any support or the option to ship the bag, with all of my personal items, if it had been found. We even offered to cover all shipping expenses, yet no effort was made to help. When we contacted administration, they were extremely rude and stated that they couldn’t do anything further. They also claimed they had reviewed the security cameras but refused to share any information about what they saw. Because of all this, we ultimately had to file a police report for the missing bag and can only hope that, if it is found, it will be mailed back to us. This entire situation reflects extremely poor service.
Additionally, the experience during our visit was disappointing. We were initially seated at a booth meant for two people, and after requesting to be moved, we had to wait again in the lobby before being reseated. The food quality was also below expectations. The salads were soaked in dressing and very soggy, the salmon was undercooked, and the mussels were not good. The only positive aspect was that our waiter was polite and did their best.
Overall, the experience was far below what I expected, and I hope these concerns will be addressed.

If going to San Antonio highly recommend coming here to eat, make reservations! Rotating restaurant at top of the tower. Cameron was our waiter and was exceptional!!! A great experience that’s different than eating at your typical restaurant.

A most wonderful and unique 360 degree view of San Antonio Texas. Food was not as good as expected. Staff did a great job overcoming a perfectly cooked but dry steak.

This place left a bittersweet taste, starting with our reservation which was for 7:15 pm not until 7:45 when they finally got our table , first impressions are the view is beautiful and table rotation is impressive however at the restaurant carpet hit us with a strong old odor and people at hostess stand were not welcoming or friendly at all.
I would say food was good specially my seafood pasta , my husband fish was bland. our server was polite and friendly, prices were expected and reasonable.
Overall an ok experience if you are new to the city as I am , but probably not to come back .

The steaks were tough and bland. Ordered a ribeye and filet mignon, very disappointed for the price paid.

The service from our waiter Cameron was top notch, the food was great, my lamb chops were just incredible, worth every cent that I paid for them, they were the best prepared dish of lamb chops I ever had along with the awesome plate presentation, my son also spoke highly of his meal. My son and I enjoyed every aspect of our experience at the Chart House
Going to the tower is a great experience with the dazzling views during the holidays. The sparkling lights at night is truly a marvel. The food was good, not great. We had Prime Rib with asparagus and garlic mash potatoes. The meat was good, but I have eaten Prime Rib tasting much better and far less expensive. The potatoes had gotten a little hard on the edges but was still good. The asparagus was slightly limp but good as well. The waiter Seth was excellent and was always there when you needed him. Overall it was a nice dinner.
One of the best experiences I had for dining, the service was outstanding and I'm very thankful for the manager emily and server Bryan for taking care of me.
