My first visit to Church's Texas Chicken. Chicken tasted so-so. Restroom was about a 3 out of 5. Overall not bad.

The food was good. The store air conditioning was broken. The interior of the store was easily over 90 degrees. I don’t know how you conduct business in Texas in July or August in 2024 under these conditions. The store should have been CLOSED, for both customers and employees having to work over FRYERS.
People were nice. Food was good enough. No complaints there. But the atmosphere reeked of super greedy store owner/franchisee.

My husband & I used to frequently visit this Churches chicken for years. We stopped visiting because the chicken tasted like it was cooked in very old oil. We moved away yet I was craving Churches chicken. Normally my husband would pick it up at another Churches location on Gilbeau rd. which is ALWAYS fresh, but he was driving by & thought he'd give it another try.We will never return to this location near UTSA. It tasted like the oil was being used for weeks at a time....

Best owner in San Antonio, not just Church's, any business. His staff mirrors his love for customers and treats people like family coming to grab portions. This location will always get my business.
