Definitely my favorite dining spot on the JW property. A great mix of style, service, food and local eating. If you had one place to try, this would be it. I had the double advantage of being there on a business meal and that is highly recommended.
It's San Antonio. Start with a classic margarita on the rocks. Their version is perfect. Also had a southwest salad with it which I highly recommend as I totally enjoyed the cilantro lime vinaigrette. With the fixed menu options I went with the seared scallops. While small, they were very well cooked. That's tough to do and they pulled it off.
Finished off with the oreo cheesecake. I'm not a cheesecake fan, but if you are you should try it. It was the only option on the fixed menu, but I can't pass it up on a biz trip.

The restaurant wasn't even close to full, yet it took an hour for our drinks to arrive. We arrived at 7:30 and received our drinks at 8:30. The food took an equally long time to come out, and when it finally did, it was totally mediocre. I really dislike it when what should be a nice resort experience turns out to be underwhelming, especially when you're paying good money for it.
Our waiter was exceptional and very accommodating. I dined with my children who are quite picky. They offered a buffet for children which was satisfying for one of my children, but the other wasn't interested. The main dinner menu wasn't extensive, so our waiter was able to talk to the chef and modify a few things for us. The service there was wonderful!
I loved the food there! We got a buffet dinner and the employee Angela was so kind and amazing.

Nice place but horrible service. Mostly the waiter. Just always seemed confused. I had the buffet. First prime rib roast was perfectly med rare to med. next one was med to med well. The server had another roast on the cutting board but would only offer the over cooked one even after seeing my displeasure. Just didn’t care. Most of our party left after getting tired of waiting for the bill. Employees did not seem to care how customers were treated. No one tried to make it a pleasant experience, let alone special. Next time it’s the steakhouse. I’d rather pay more to people that appreciate customers. Cibola Moon seems to go downhill more every year.

If you're looking for something elegant to entertain a client or to have a romantic dinner with your spouse, I would recommend a different restaurant. But if you're looking for something in the hotel, the food is very good in the service as well. The night we were there They had a buffet featuring barbecue ribs and brisket, which was very good. You could also order off of the menu which we've also done on other occasions. The breakfast buffet is also very good.
Angelo was amazing! loved the restaurant and the food

I was so excited to try this place. We were seated at dirty table with crumbs and water spilled on the table and when I told the host she made a fit about it. The staff was rude to the point my brother and I just left. Very sad.

Absolutely love the hotel and this is why we return to the JW every year.
My 9 year old daughter and I had breakfast at Cibolo Moon and were greeted by a very friendly server. She was excited to see waffles and fruit on the buffet, so we went with the kids’ buffet at $19, which felt high but manageable.
However, I was shocked to be charged an additional $13 for “hot food”—something that was never explained up front. Had I known the full buffet wasn’t included, I would have simply ordered her waffles à la carte. She ate two small pieces. That’s $26 for a child’s breakfast that barely got touched.
Then I ordered the kid’s breakfast tacos, which the server kindly suggested when I hesitated about the adult portion. Again, not told that adding bacon would cost an extra $6. Between the kids buffet and the kids tacos, my total came to $56 for breakfast.
That’s not luxury—that’s being nickel-and-dimed to an absurd degree.
This kind of pricing and lack of clarity is beyond frustrating. We love this property and always enjoy our stay, but Cibolo Moon has completely lost our trust.

Always a highlight of our trip to the JW to eat at Cibolo Moon! Food and service were excellent once again!

Over priced buffet with ridiculous surcharges on non alcoholic bar drinks ($39 “liquor” add on and the drinks were $42). Then we tipped on top of this.
Not very many dinner options and service has been super slow both times we have dined here.
Amazing food. 5 star quality.

Ate here several times while staying on property and every meal was excellent along with good service! Breakfast was always quick which was helpful while needing to eat but also get to the programming of the conference I was there for! I docked a star because it is pretty pricey for meals here and even if things were just a few dollars less it would feel like an even better experience!
Beautiful setting. Buffet looked great, especially the desserts! We were with our kids and grandkids, so that made up for the so so food and service.
