De Wese's Tip Top Cafe Reviews
Every thing is perfect, homemade taste & king size portions. I love everything about this place. To watch the tray of butter ed rolls come out from the kitchen fresh & hot. It’s like stepping back in time before microwaves & process fast food. A real delight !
I had good food and service here while waiting out a rain and hail storm.
Wait staff was awesome. Food sucked. The chicken fried steak was all breading. The “cream” gravy was yellow and had a weird tasted that we couldn’t figure out. Not sure why they have all those awards. I will not be going back. Don’t waste your time.

De Wese's Tip Top Cafe is a restaurant that offers a dining experience with generous portions and a homemade taste. The soda is rich, and the salad stands out with its special ranch dressing. Chicken fried steak is a popular choice, often considered one of the best in San Antonio, along with mashed tater, green beans, onion rings, fried mushrooms, and iced tea. The atmosphere feels like stepping into the past, with a jukebox and memorabilia adding to the nostalgic vibe. The food is made fresh, with nothing pre-cooked, and many dishes, including their cornbread and B Mac n cheese, are highly praised. The staff, including the woman who makes the cornbread, are friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations and service. The restaurant manager is also very kind and attentive to customers and staff. The setting is nice and country-style, with good music creating a warm environment. The pie is a must-try, especially the chocolate pie, apple pie, and brownie pie. The cutlet is delicious and shareable, while onion rings come in a large half order, which can be too much for some. Although there have been some past issues with food quality and the outdoor restroom area needs upgrades, overall, the food is worth the wait. De Wese's Tip Top Cafe continues to attract customers with its tasty food and nostalgic charm, making it a great place to bring others.
