Easily the worst experience I’ve had at a free birds, waited over an hour to get our food. Food was placed at 3:00 for pickup and didn’t receive food until 4:30. When we got to the free birds it was around 3:15. I knew it was a bad sign when the worker in charge of the to gos was putting orders out from 2:00 o’clock.to clarify there was no a long line. To add to that she was on her phone more then she was making to gos orders. People who had gotten there after us and who were in line where leaving with their food before she had even started our order. Around 3:50 the girl calls out order 101, my order being 104. So I had assumed our food would be out soon. After calling the order she went to the other side of the restaurant for break I assume and proceeded to give us dirty looks with her co worker who she had been sitting next to. After another 20 minutes the manager came out to help and yet our order hasn’t been touched. Another 20 minutes ago by when a woman who had been standing next to us had gotten the managers attention who was coming back from telling the girls to come do the to go orders. She had told them who we were before her and she had been waiting well over an hour for her food. He proceeded to make me and my girlfriends order. We paid for a brownie that in which we did not receive. My girlfriends food was made incorrectly. And when he handed us our food he apologized for the wait and the worker In charge of to gos had gotten back from the other side of the restaurant when she over heard the manager apologizing and then proceeded to deny responsibility for the terrible experience. The manager referred to her as “Sophie”. I recommend firing or at least writing up this employee. She made the experience for me and girlfriend. I will make sure to tell people to avoiding ordering to-go from free birds due to the lackluster attitude of the employees who clearly do not care about good customer service.

Went here for lunch and kids eat free meal today. Had my little guy with me. We both very much enjoyed our meal, he really gobbled up his taco! But more importantly, we want to especially say thank you to the cashier, Lily L, who drew a picture of him on his bag! He was sooo excited when he saw it that he hung it up in his room!
Service was really good, I got attended by really nice employees and got all my questions answered, and the place itself is really clean a has a nice vibe. THE FOOD TASTES BLAND tho, it feels like they don't even bother using more than one pinch of salt on their beans, very disappointing with the food and the price.

Great service!
Found myself on UTSA the other day, and ate here ... and it reminded me why I have not dined at a Freebirds in almost a decade...
Guacamole was overly sour (too much lemon and/or lime), the rice was soggy, and the peppers were over cooked. I also asked for a small amount of fresh jalapeños, and they gave me a heaping scoopful; stomachache city!!!
Sure, this location is run by a third-party food service company, but they sure have managed to keep the food the same quality as the rest of the Freebirds: Not so good and overrated.
Always loved this place ever since the mid 90s. The one in college station is by far the best! Austin is pretty darn close too. But I do have to say that the ones in San Antonio were very blah...disappointing. I was so looking forward to trying to eat a super monster but they don't even have it on the menu anymore. however if you ask you can still order it....but only one person knew what it was. Plus the ingredient buffet seems to have shrunken by half... I mean another half and you got a Chipotle. Keep them the way they were. Original, impressive, and delicious don't let franchising ruin your brand!!
So great! Many fresh options with amazing pricing
