Gino's Deli @ Stop & Buy

This used to be my go to place 7 years ago before I left SA. Today I was disappointed by how skimpy it got. Less meat on the philly and barely any lettuce with one slice of tomato on an entire half of the sandwich. The team was pleasant but when I get a philly for that price, I expect more in the sandwich.

Such an amazing local gem, can’t wait to go back to try more. Lots of recommendations from friends and family and finally went to try it. The Smoke Stack was perfect and the service was quick and familiar. All 5000 other ratings are telling the truth.

I always see this place when I commute to and from work. I finally got a chance to stop by during my lunch break and I was glad I did. The second I step in I was greeted by a few people and asked if this was my first time. I told them 'Yes, it is,' and they walked me through the process of how to order. I got the cheese steak sandwich with everything. I also got the chips and drink combo. The initial bite was amazing! The quality of meat and the way it was cooked was excellent. The bread also was delicious and had absorbed all the juices from the peppers and meat, adding another layer of goodness. I thought the sandwich was a solid 10! I will be coming back to try other items in the following weeks. 100% recommend if you are a person who loves a good sandwich.

Split a deliciously melty and savory Philly cheesesteak, their signature sandwich, here with my gf. Loved the service, the speed, and the smiles all around, despite the crazy lunch rush! Can be a little crowded, but totally worth it, especially if you're looking for a quick bite with fresh tasting ingredients. This team runs like a well oiled machine and their sandwiches truly hit the spot every time. Love you Ginos!

A lot of different sandwich options. I asked the person taking my order for recommendations, so I ended up getting the Philly Cheese Steak, The Smoke Stack and the Dirty Derrick. None of them were anything special. Maybe I should have tried at least one cold sandwich instead. Food came out fast, and I appreciated the free bag of chips. The fountain sprite tasted like rusty pipes.

This was my first time here, and I was rewarded for it! I've gotta say, I was shocked I had driven by this place for the past 4 years and never realized one of the best delis in America was right under my nose! Upon entering you are greeted by the friendly employees who helped guide me thru my sandwich selection. The sandwich (The Smokestack) was delicious! Everything was so fresh, the bread, the meats, but I felt shortchanged on the lettuce tomatoes, pickles, and onions that all the sandwiches are supposed to come with. I think I had a couple of shreds of lettuce, and thats it. 🤷‍♂️ That being said, I still loved my sandwich, really enjoyed the friendliness of the employees, especially the cashier, so I can't to come back and try more! The atmosphere is unique. Seems like nothing but regulars vs newbies like me. The semi-convenience store deli is different, but spacious and homey. Definitely a place you need to stop by and try! 🔥👍

Went yesterday after many rave reviews and then ksat rated it best cheese steak in San Antonio. It's not new or flashy. Maybe not very pretty, however, it's clean, all the staff were so very nice and yup, that was a good sandwich. Oh and first timers get free drink and chips too. We can't wait to go back.

The Owner of this store is so friendly and welcoming. This was the best experience I’ve had at any restaurant since I’ve moved to San Antonio. I get Philly cheesesteaks all around the city and they usually take 10-30 min to get the food out, but Gino’s had both our sandwiches out in less than 5 minutes! Delicious food, amazing staff, this is such an amazing establishment.
