“I got a number 2 and the chicken was so big that it was outside the bun. There was more chicken than bun and that really made it better. The sauce and the fries as well paired really well with the sliders.

“India Taj Palace in North San Antonio absolutely hit the spot for a Saturday late-lunch buffet. It’s the kind of classic Indian buffet you hope for—comforting “typical Indian fare,” but done well, with a lot of vegetarian options.

My favorites were the dal makhani (rich, creamy, and full of that slow-cooked flavor) and the mixed vegetable—perfectly spiced and super satisfying. The veggie pulao was another standout: tasty, hot, and genuinely fresh, not like it had been sitting around. And the real star for me was the butter naan—served hot and crispy, brushed with butter, and I swear I caught a little cilantro on there too. Honestly, I could’ve eaten that naan by itself and been happy.

If you’re in the mood for a relaxed Indian buffet with great vegetarian choices and a few dishes that seriously deliver, India Taj Palace is a must.“

“Found this place by accident on Thanksgiving night when we were in town and almost everything NOT a terrible overpriced tourist chain was closed. Came back two nights later before leaving town because it was so good. Very tasty standards like saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, chicken kurma, naan, mango lasse, etc. Fast service, great prices, great location right by the Riverwalk and cathedral for tourists and next to the courthouse for anyone with business there. (Also has a kids menu with things like chicken nuggets and fries if your kids are being tired and cranky and hangry and don’t like Indian food.) If you’re in San Antonio, check them out!“
