“10/10 experience from an unsuspecting location! Amir (owner) is the kindest person, takes real pride in his work, and serves the most delicious food! I am vegetarian and get the falafel garden plate and every vegetable is cooked to perfection plus the falafel is perfection. Also, the portion sizes are huge!!“
“The food here is amazing. It's prepared to order and it's so flavorful and delicious. I was taken here by a friend and neither of us knew it was here for so long and it's so good we were totally shocked! I recommend it to everyone I pass by with. Definitely give it a try!!“
“The food was delicious! We had the chicken shawarma wrap and the loaded fried. Both were fresh and full of flavor. While we waited for our food, we talked with Saaj who was so friendly and hospitable! We will be back!If you are walking down South Congress, or enjoying a show at C Boy's, be sure to stop by!“
“Lapachi's is a great spot to pick up a quick meal. Chef Lapachi was kind and attentive when I visited, even though he was also quite busy, and able to recommend a dish that met my eating preferences. I had the fries and a vegetable panini. The fries were crisp on the outside with a soft interior. They were seasoned well, complementing the essence of the potato without overpowering it. Although the fries are a side that pair nicely with a sandwich, I did not need to eat them with any sauce. They could easily be a stand alone snack! As for the vegetable panini, I appreciated that it was cut into two manageable halves. The bread came out crunchy but not hard and I could taste notes of feta and perhaps other cheeses under the flavor of the olives and warm tomatoes. All in all, I had a pleasant experience at this new downtown bistro. Chef Lapachi is one of the best chefs around, and I look forward to exploring the menu more in the future!“
“We visited at their new location and loved it. They were kind and friendly. My kids wolfed down the breakfast quesadilla and the tacos that came with were wonderful - I don’t like meat and I still loved them. The green sauce was good enough to drink. My husband wants to go back for dinner!!!“
“Absolutely some of the best Mediterranean/middle eastern food I've ever had. I've been here a few times, gotten something different every tine and it's all been amazing. The hummus may be the best I've ever had and the spicy kebab are incredible.“
“We loved the food, got onion samosas, chicken 777, lamb vindaloo, a fish dish, garlic naan, mango lassi, chai, carrot halwa. Our favorites were the samosas, chicken 777 and lamb vindaloo. We loved the presentation a lot, all the plates and dishes were really nice. Nandini was our waitress and she was really nice and very attentive. The service and the food are why we already know we will be back. No photos to share, everything looked good and we devoured it and didn’t take any.“
“We picked up iftar dinner today and the owner was so very nice kind to offer us dates as a slight delay caused us to break fast in the car. The food overall was amazing. We ordered chicken tikka, beef bihari, chicken bihari, seekh kabab, bun kabab, halwa puri combo, and laccha parathas. The beef bihari, seekh kebab and bun kababs were my favorite. Great flavor, melt in your mouth texture with balanced spices. In Shaa Allah hope to visit again post Ramadan to eat on premise and enjoy the bustling vibe. Truly happy to find this hidden gem in Austin that takes me back to the flavors of Karachi. Wishing the karachigrillatx.com team all the very best and continued success.“
“Most authentic Mediterranean food I’ve had in Austin!I grew up in a city with a lot of middle eastern cuisine, so this has been one of my favorite foods since I was young. I finally found the authentic Mediterranean flavors I’ve been craving since I moved to Austin!“
“Finally stopped by after hearing such good things. It did not disappoint! Everything we got was very good. I got the king size wrap and it was enormous. Definitely some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in Austin. This is the new go-to when in the area. ✅“
“This restaurant is truly one of Austin’s hidden gems! Amazing food and awesome service. They outshine all the other mediocre competitors when you eat here you feel like you’re welcomed and at home. Definitely coming back to this awesome restaurant and I heard they have one in San Marcos so whenever I’m floating the River I know where to go. Thank you the halal project for putting a smile on my face!“
“I had a nice conversation with the owner/chef, who contacted me and clearly cares a great deal about his product and is interested in understanding criticism. Really if I could have given 3.5 stars I would have so I'm rounding up to 4 for his proactiveness in understand my concerns. The brisket burger is pretty good but I still think it needs some changes to make it great. Anyway props to Mo for reaching out!“
“Not a big fan of the downtown yalla location (they can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are they'll mess up your order). This location, however, did a minor mess up on one order so far, and it was still great. The rest of the times were great as well. I've visited this location probably at least 5 times now and ive honestly enjoyed my burger everytime I come here. Everything here feels so fairly priced, and they even have vegetarian options here as well which is a nice addition.“
“5 stars is not enough. Before anything, noticed the super nice employees and a clean space- then I got home with the food I ordered and my girlfriend and I both were impressed with the both portion size and flavors of the chicken and gyro wraps.“
“11/10Ali is AMZING, a really nice and great guy we ordered from. We ordered spicy chicken wraps, lamb kebab with vegetables, and felafel. It is soooo good and filling. He did forget to ring up our baklava, but he gave it to us for free. Wallahi best truck you could eat from, I highly recommend“
“Arrived late to the hotel so choices were limited. Thankfully, this little halal cart is within walking distance. Stopped by and got a combo wrap, meat over fries and baklava. Combo was filled and tasty! Messy but worth every drip. Wife enjoyed the meat over fries. Baklava was sweet and delicious. Great portions for the price.I want to preface for a late night spot, the food was solid. Revolutionary? No but again, when your whiskers are wet and you need some late grub, would slam a combo wrap again“
“I live down the block and have been here 3-4 times since I stumbled on it. The service is great - the Jordanian owner/chef is awesome, and their shawarma is excellent. Definitely recommend adding the toum + grab a hummus, which is super rich.“
“I've seen this food truck in the small shopping strip, decided to try the food. Got the Gryo plate, very delicious! Staff very friendly. Haven't tried the other plates and wraps, but I will next time. They have a couple picnic tables for those that want to stay and eat. I love their Tzatziki sauce, but their spicy sauce is a bit too spicy for me.Parking: Gyro food truck is in a small shopping strip- gas pumps, a small food market, etc. Some parking near the food truck, and other parts of the shopping area.“
“Some of the best food you will find in this part of Austin and a top notch Nepalese/Indian restaurant for pretty much anyplace in this country. The food is perfect every time. Bring back the lunch buffet and I'll eat there three times per week. Service was excellent and everyone is super nice. Prices are great for what you get as well. Flavors just explode.Vegetarian options: Amazing across the board. The okra will blow your mind.“
“Delicious, lip smacking & fresh food!! It’s the best mediterranean buffet restaurant in Austin. My favorites include grilled succulent chicken, fattoush, baklava, rose drink & rice pudding. They have spoiled me with the choices in salads. They make fresh baklava!!! Always had a great dining and service experience even during 2020.“
“Bought Chicken Biriyani and it tastes good. The spice (salt and chili powder) is just perfect. I like it better than NYC chili biriyani. It’s the only Bengali restaurant and grocery in Austin as I was told. They had ample amount of rice and chicken pieces and the price $12 was just right for the size.“
“Shawarma Point provided amazing food for a very special event I was hosting. The service was outstanding by making sure I had everything I needed and plenty of it! My guests were blown away by the fantastic “build your own spread”featuring basmati rice, spring salads, pita bread, chicken shawarma, fresh veggie and of course their infamous white sauce and red sauce! Each guest went back for seconds and some thirds. This could have been a tough crowd to please for dinner. Shawarma Point made me look like a rockstar host!I recommend this as the best option for exceeding expectations for a variety of guests, not to mention my own.“
“Liked the falafel in the Veggie Wrap. It was crispy. Initially on eating it I found it dry. Good thing that they give additional hot sauce & sour cream to add moistness.I would say service is a little up tight. My friend asked for hot water and we had to pay for it. Would have liked a little warmer service ( pun intended) as this is what helps repeat customers as well.“
“Had food from here delivered a few nights ago while too sick to cook. The lamb, chicken, and rice were perfectly cooked and seasoned, the vegetables were super crisp and fresh, and the sauce itself was great. My gyro wrap was stuffed & I had enough left overs for a lunch after eating my fill. It was amazing and we will be ordering or visiting again.“
“Me and my friend were looking for a meal to eat after dancing all night and they hit the spot.Went here after going to a club at 6th street and portions were huge! I didn’t get to finish my lamb wrap and their cheese fries were actually made of shredded cheese so they were a little salty and greasy for me and my friend but they put actual cheese so thats to be expected, cheese was stretchy so thats a plus. I enjoyed my meal It was really delicious overall. I didn’t get to take a photo cause we were so hungry. The space here is limited because there were only 5 long tables if I remember correctly but we managed (hate to imagine if they were super busy you’d be forced to maybe take it home). Service was great, they were nice and straightforward, food came out fast. Overall, highly recommend this place for a late night meal, before or after getting your party on!“
“This is the restaurant I love the most in Austin City. They serve all kind of authentic Halal Yemeni dishes. We used to drive all the way to Dallas for Hadramout. Those days are over. Now Hadramout is in Austin. Almost every week I'm having Hadramout with my family and friends since they opened.I love all of their dishes. You name it from Mandi, Kabsa, Haneeth, Zurbian to Grilled Fish. I've tried everything. Here is my rating if you want to know about it.Lamb MandiVery authentic taste9.4/10Lamb KabsaIt's one of my favorites9.5/10Lamb HaneethVery tender & flavorful8.9/10Zurbian LambThe most unique one8.5/10Grilled Fish over RiceVery flaky & oily. I will try 'em anytime soon. The only complain I have and a few of my friends have is that the portions are getting smaller day by day. Other than that they didn't compromise with their quality at all. I really appreciate their hard work.Highly recommended! ?“
“Amazing food, great prices, and easy parking right next to the truck.Parking: While it is a paid lot, if you're taking food to go, you're usually fine not paying, and just getting your food to go.Wheelchair accessibility: There is access to the truck via a hill, but the hill is somewhat steep, and the other entrance is stairs.“
“The chicken wrap was delicious I thought it would be average in flavor but it was good! Chicken was juicy and not at all overcooked and dry. The sauce used was packed with flavor too. The service was fast and friendly. They have benches around the food trucks here to sit and enjoy your food with friends or family. Will be back to try more sometime soon.“
“I came around 8:30pm on a Friday night, and it wasn't too pack. Based on the menu picture, I ordered the kebab, and the guy told me that the meat was a mix of lamb and beef. I also ordered the tikka, and he told me that the meat is chicken. When I got the food, it didn't look like the picture in the menu. The tikka was delicious. It came as a plate full of chicken even under the tomato and rice. It had salad, hummus, and pita bread included. The hummus was smooth and had a more charred taste to it. The salad was sour and complimented the chicken. I would get it again since it could actually feed two people. The kebab looked more like a large empanada than what I was expecting. It was good too with juicy meat and tomato inside and cost $10. In my opinion, the tikka was more worth it and cost around $16. There are some tables to sit outside. I also wanted to try the okra, but it was sold out.“
“We stopped by at Yall Hamburgers after we met them on the I-35 freeway at one night at 12:06 a.m. due to one of their trucks needing roadside assistance. After being on the right shoulder of the freeway with them (Yalla Hamburger Crew Members) for a couple of minutes, we knew that they were really good people as they showed that they were concerned for our safety due to the fast oncoming traffic. After a few minutes we jumpstarted their truck and got it off the freeway. The truck had died while running due to a bad alternator that couldn't provide charge to the batteries. After getting the truck out of the freeway we followed them to a safe area and we recommended to them to leave the truck there and to return first thing in the morning once the auto parts stores open and we could replace the alternator. So we met them in the morning and we installed a new alternator since the auto parts stores had one available. After the truck was fixed they had a super happy smile on their face and said that they're so happy because the previous night they were super concerned about their customers who didn't get service that night due to the truck not being able to drive but that today they would! It was at that moment that out of their hearts they invited us to go try their food at their location so we did a couple of days later and we Absolutely Loved their food and their hospitality!Unfortunately, a few minutes after we started eating at the tables we had to go to our vehicle because it started to rain hard and there's only outside seating available at Trinity St with downtown views. We absolutely recommend everyone to try their Yalla Burger and Chicken Wings! We really enjoyed our visit and we know that you will too!“
“The falafel plate was great. Food was properly prepared, which can be rare with falafel (usually rock hard at other places). Cool dude, and open lateVegetarian options: Would prefer hummus over the white sauce for falafel dishes. Makes it vegan“
“An underrated Mediterranean spot close to Parmer! The falafel was fantastic and one of the best I've had in Austin. Don't skip out on the tahini sauce either, it is also delicious!I do wish the atmosphere was a bit more inviting. I try not to have high expectations when dining in at food trucks—but I think keeping just the picnic tables with some nice umbrellas would be a welcome change from the current setup with a metal tent.Service was also great and they are very generous on the portion sizes as well. Overall, excited to go back and try more! Very glad to have this food truck close to where I work.P.S. Look at how neatly the falafel is arranged on the rice! :D“
“Ordered in some lamb and chicken rice bowls from halal bros. The rice were well cooked and flavorful. The veggies fresh and the chicken very well cooked and delicious. The lamb was well cooked as well.I’ve ordered in quite a bit from halal bros and it never disappoints.“
“Zaza's Chicken Jalapeno Wrap packs a punch! Spicy jals meets the juicy chicken, all wrapped in a perfectly toasted tortilla. Service at Zaza is as vibrant as they are friendly and quick. The casual, sunlit ambience makes it a fiesta for your taste buds and mood. Don't miss this gem for a flavorful, filling lunch! I would 100% recommend to try at this restaurant.“
“Wow! This place is the best!! Great taste and good customer service. Super generous portions on the chicken wrap. Lots of chicken, lettuce, tomato and cucumber! You get the best bang for your buck here, one wrap is like two whole meals! One of my favorite spots I will keep coming back for these reasons!“
“Had the lamb chops, buttered naan, and shrimp fried rice. O.....m.......g, it was all beyond the best I've ever had, EVER!!! The lamb chops were so tender and juicy, tasting like they were slowly marinated for hours, and the rice was too sure for! I could not stop moaning and complimenting this food!“
“Had amazing time with my friend tonight. Shetty was able to recommend some of their special which we really enjoyed. Food was amazing and really hit the spot. It was flavorful and pack just enough heat. Service was great. They consistently checked on us.“
