“My husband loved the crudo dish, had the smashed cucumber (smoked labne, nigella, amba, aleppo). Frena - this was delicious! (mediterranean wheat, za'atar, lamb butter, beet horseradish. Chicken Shawarma - laffa, carraway cabbage, green tahini and fixins Favorite was the falafel - tahini, amba, green shug..... yum! Cocktails of course! Our waitress was Sophie she was very gracious and attentive. Definitely going back.“

“Came here for some Irani chai wanted to try after seeing on Instagram. The place was a bit hard to find but once I found it I was created with a super nice staff. The inside area is nice as well. I got the Irani chai and they were so sweet to provide me no charge. The Irani chai is definitely sweet if you like sugar in your chai. Definitely will be back to try the menu items they looked so good! Love that there are Turkish options.“

“Been coming here for YEARS now and this food truck has seen me through it all. Ali has a heart of gold, remembers his customers, and ALWAYS puts me in a good mood with his amazing cooking and attitude. Both of which has never once faltered all this time. Not to mention his prices are VERY reasonable, he's open late, and personally, it's an absolute pleasure supporting someone with this rare level of dedication towards their craft.

This is not an ad, I was just excited to give the shoutout & review this place deserves after all these years! (Sorry it took this long haha) The next time you need something quick, or are tired of overpaying for fast food made by kids/corporations who couldn't care less about you, remember this place. You'll spend less time and money for a better meal than any drive-thru in town.

“Okay, I have not left a review for this place yet and I am mad at myself for it. Sammmmmmm is the sweetest man ever! Everytime I come to the truck, he is always so nice to me. My order is always chicken over rice or the combination plate. They are fast and efficient. The food consistently tastes amazing. Anytime I come here, I grab my plate to go and 20 mins later I eat it in the comfort of my home. Still hot. Always bomb! Tonight, I thought the location was closed. It wasn’t in its normal spot! I happened to walk past some food trucks and checked to see if it was there and eureka it was! I went straight to Sam and said “OMG I thought you all closed!” I don’t make it out to East 6th all that much anymore, but anytime I do. I have to end my evening at Halal Time! He was generous enough to give me a water, because he knows I was dancing all night and Texas is hot… He even gave me Baklava on my birthday one time. 🥹 Now I’m eating my bowl in the comfort of my apartment writing this review!“

“It was really great place to visit the (thicket Park). It’s a family friendly location. I came with my wife and my son. He had lots of fun and we tried to eat at TX Shawarma. We tried the chicken, It was amazing and the kebab as well and my kid loved their fries. Would definitely recommend it and we are coming again soon.“

There were plenty of options on the menu, so it was easy to find something satisfying. The staff was friendly and the service was quick even during busy times. “Perfect and crispy falafels. Not undercooked or overcooked. Creamy and plentiful hummus but I could taste salty as I’m sensitive to high sodium. I just wished that Tabbouleh isn’t too watery or has too much olive oil. Maybe it’s how Lebanese dish is cooked. The lady offered to bring the meal to my car which was nice.“

“I was sent for work here in Austin from the Waco area and found this gem. Since I'm on a restrictive diet, I googled and found Hippy Eats! I have never had a falafel before but was not disappointed. Jason was nice and easy to talk to and went above and beyond in every aspect of the experience. He even enhanced my falafel with extras (we'll call it a secret menu item for now). The smell of the food from the ride back to work was delicious and the taste was great as well. Thank you Jason for the Austin falafel experience!“
