“Despite the fact that this is one of the ONLY places to get food in Austin after midnight (post-Covid) it’s far from a last resort. The owner / chef Saaj is an Austin local that feeds his customers as true “neighbors” by sharing his native recipes with a unique home cook feel. The portions are massive for just under $15, and I dare you to only eat it once. It’s in the backyard of C-Boys - and Austin staple in its own right, so enjoy a Shiner Bock and some local blues while you eat.“

“My husband loved the crudo dish, had the smashed cucumber (smoked labne, nigella, amba, aleppo). Frena - this was delicious! (mediterranean wheat, za'atar, lamb butter, beet horseradish. Chicken Shawarma - laffa, carraway cabbage, green tahini and fixins Favorite was the falafel - tahini, amba, green shug..... yum! Cocktails of course! Our waitress was Sophie she was very gracious and attentive. Definitely going back.“

“Food was tasty, the guy who took our order was really polite, and the dining area is chill.

However there is a parking issue in this gas station and the storage business right next to it. I got a boot on my car just waiting 20 minutes for my food and it cost me $100 to get it off.

If you do decide to come here, I would avoid parking here if there is an event near the stadium because you will get a boot on your car as there was several other cars getting booted.

I’m not sure if the owner is aware but you guys could warn your customers somewhere that this is a possibility. I know it’s not your fault but it’s your customers being affected by this.“

“This is easily one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've been to. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly, and the gyros were just as impressive with fresh ingredients and amazing seasoning. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous for the price.
I came here with a group of friends, and every single person enjoyed their meal. Everyone found something they loved, and we all agreed we'd definitely come back. “Would highly recommend the gyro wrap. The meat is so juicy and the flavors all come together beautifully. I’ve ordered the gyro plate before and while that may be your best bang for buck because the quantity is a lot, that gyro wrap is unbeatable. I would frequent this place for that alone.“

“Been coming here for YEARS now and this food truck has seen me through it all. Ali has a heart of gold, remembers his customers, and ALWAYS puts me in a good mood with his amazing cooking and attitude. Both of which has never once faltered all this time. Not to mention his prices are VERY reasonable, he's open late, and personally, it's an absolute pleasure supporting someone with this rare level of dedication towards their craft.

This is not an ad, I was just excited to give the shoutout & review this place deserves after all these years! (Sorry it took this long haha) The next time you need something quick, or are tired of overpaying for fast food made by kids/corporations who couldn't care less about you, remember this place. You'll spend less time and money for a better meal than any drive-thru in town.

“BEST LAMB GYRO IN AUSTIN. I've been to dozens of places in Austin and have determined that this place dishes out the best gyro around. While there is some good competition, I still think this place is the best.

The Lamb within the gyro has nice crispy edges. The taziki sauce is spot on and they put the perfect amount of hot sauce on there to spice it up just a little bit. They even toss in these special marinated pickles which give the gyro its own special taste“

I went this last weekend for a chicken schwarma, and was really impressed with their menu and prices. I got my schwarma and it was top tier with seasoned fries to add to the wrap. “It was really great place to visit the (thicket Park). It’s a family friendly location. I came with my wife and my son. He had lots of fun and we tried to eat at TX Shawarma. I just wished that Tabbouleh isn’t too watery or has too much olive oil. Maybe it’s how Lebanese dish is cooked. The lady offered to bring the meal to my car which was nice.“

“I visited Chako for the first time on Sunday with some family and we all LOVED the food!! We were so excited to try the shawarmas and the food was better than expected! Food was served within 10 minutes of ordering and food was very warm! The man serving us was so friendly and even with a language barrier between us he gave exceptional service.
