Chef Lapachi was kind and attentive when I visited, even though he was also quite busy, and able to recommend a dish that met my eating preferences. I had the fries and a vegetable panini. The fries were crisp on the outside with a soft interior. They were seasoned well, complementing the essence of the potato without overpowering it. Although the fries are a side that pair nicely with a sandwich, I did not need to eat them with any sauce. They could easily be a stand alone snack!As for the vegetable panini, I appreciated that it was cut into two manageable halves. The bread came out crunchy but not hard and I could taste notes of feta and perhaps other cheeses under the flavor of the olives and warm tomatoes.All in all, I had a pleasant experience at this new downtown bistro. Chef Lapachi is one of the best chefs around, and I look forward to exploring the menu more in the future!“
