It's not bad for a daytime drinking spot especially during the summer. In the evenings and during big events it gets too crowded and the parking is the worst. I really recommend this as a day drinking spot.
History. I went to UTSA in the late 80s and was in the ROTC program. After training we would head to Hills and Dales which was a small gas station and convenience store. We would drink outside on picnic tables in harmony with other tables occupied by truckers, bikers and any other type you can think of.
