Food was okay. Drinks were the highlight. A variety of craft cocktails and classic cocktails. They were delicious. They also have different deals everyday of the week which is a bonus.

I'm not sure what they put in my drink but I felt as if there was a flock of singing toucans and parrots serenading my wife as we dined on the unique cuisine at this charming spot. Cheers!

A+++ on every level. Best ambiance, best service, best rum selection, best booth seating, and some of the best food I've had in a long time. I love everything about this place.

So glad I came back and tried their happy hour. Spam fried rice, brussels sprouts were delicious. We loved the bartender surprise drink, each was different and tasty. Will definitely return.

Very disappointed. Half the menu is not available during the day. Food is expensive and small portioned. They also do not accept cash and put a 3.5% transaction fee automatically on the bill.

What an incredible restaurant. A wild mash up of Chinese food and Tiki drinks, make sure you get a reservation! Drinks are exceptional and also reasonably priced. Be sure to get the shrimp dumplings. Topped with pork sung, they might be some of the best items on the menu.Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly. Music is loud, seatings are intimate, lots of alcohol.

This place was highly recommended so my expectations were very high.Since it was my first time, we decided to order a bunch of stuff and share. We got the Burris Scallion Pancake Wrap, Fire Chicken Noodles, Twice Fried Wings, Monterey Style Brussel Sprouts along with Egg Rolls and Pork Belly from the side menu. This place definitely had a youthful vibe to it and retro Asian decor to match the atmosphere despite the modernized fusion menu.

Place has gone down hill and super pricey. Drinks are all ice!! I mean, overflowing with ice!! How do they compete with all of the other bars? I guess they don't, as there were a lot of empty tables, and no wait to get in, on a Friday night with the market going on. They didn't bring the drinks all together. Server was blah!! For such a fun vibe of a place, she didn't make it enjoyable. No smile, couldn't hear her. Food was pricey and not great. New menus were mixed in with old menus, so, once you decide what you want, the server says they don't have it anymore. The manager did give us a gift card, after way too long of a discussion with him, for screwing up one of our orders. We gave it to another table, as we won't be back. Do better Hot Joy!! You have a lot of competition all around you. We spent the rest of our evening, and money, at places with much better drinks, that actually had alcohol in them.

The best menu item at HotJoy is hands down the Spam Fried Rice.

Hotjoy is always a great experience. If you're in the mood for really well executed food with a fun twist and punky-tiki vibes, this is the spot. The food is an amalgam of real authentic flavors from all over Asia, and American one-upsmanship and served family style, for the most part. The Birria and Scallion Pancakes wraps may be the best "drunk" food ever made, and the Lemon Pepper Curry wings are a must. The bar serves up tasty tiki drinks and large bowl format beverages for groups with all the extra trappings.Leave your expectations at the door and just go in and have some fun with whatever is on the menu or on offer that day. 10/10 every time.

Hot Joy is straight fire!We crushed the orange chicken, spam fried rice, and twice fried wings. Everything tasted bomb and came out fast because our excellent server Kat. Shoutout to the tasty coconut mocktail too!Only complaint is they need to bring back that spicy pickle chicken - missed out on that one but it sounds amazing. PLEASE BRING IT BACK.Overall, Hot Joy smashes it on flavors, vibe, and service. A+ spot for next-level Asian munchies with fun twists. Get it in your belly ASAP!

It’s ok. Pretty decor, nice dark atmosphere, nice looking drinks but ok-tasting and the food is ok-tasting. This is strictly a San Antonion infusion restaurant so if you’re looking for the authentic taste that is still plated as infusion, I would try elsewhere.

Hot Joy didn't really live up to my expectations. First off, finding parking was a nightmare due to its location. However, once inside, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the servers were friendly. The food wasn't terrible, but it didn't wow me either. While it's shareable, it's a bit on the pricey side. The drinks were both overpriced and underwhelming. I paid $10 for a basic drink that looked good but fell short in taste.
