the bathroom stinks as you walk into the restaurant from the street. there was a bucket next to my table to catch drainage from the a/c unit. the service was hurried and sloppy. the rangoons arrived overcooked at the ends. the soup wasn’t hot enough.

Not again thank you.
Used to love this place back in the day. --- ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! I ORDERED A ENTREE PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE FOR ONE DAY REWARMED IT UP THE NEXT DAY. ACCIDENTALLY LEFT THE BOX OUT AND IT SMELLED LIKE DEATH. I'VE NEVER SMELT SUCH A HORRID BOX OF FOOD NOPE ... IT ALSO DID NOT TASTE GOOD UPON REHEATING. ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.
Honestly this is one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the area. I've tried most of the menu and everything was better than expected.

Great food still my go
Oldest Chinese restaurant in Texas. Meaning, they know what they’re doing, that’s for sure.

Too many bad things to say never going back
Great Service and Atmosphere. Hung Fong has been around for a very long time in San Antonio. However, went last Sunday and the food was terrible. The Hot & Sour soup was actually Egg Drop soup with added ingredients. Lazy. Can't afford another pot to make Proper Hot & Sour soup back in the kitchen? The eggroll was very bitter. Could not eat more than one bite. The Major Disappointment was the Shrimp in Garlic sauce. More like Shrimp in Chow Mein sauce. The kitchen staff don't know how to cook Chinese American food. Do not waste your time or money!
Great food. Service was a little slower than usual, but the food made up for that. The place could have used a little more lighting. Be sure to give them a try.
Love me some yummy food

Just recently ordered some food here by delivery. Food was just alright, lacking seasoning. Better off going to Hot Joy in my opinion.
Haven't been in years. Cool location and vibe and food was good. Friendly waitress

I have eaten here since I was in jr high. Always amazing. Got some takeout after haven’t been here in a few years and had the most comedically and terrible combination fried rice I ever had.
This place has really gone down hill. 1st of all I've been a server and it's easier to do s good job to give bad service. I waited 10 mins with no drink order. The server ran food for other tables at 6 mins brought forks and napkins, then said be right back. It took her another 4 mins and by then I was ready to leave. All hands in and all hands out is not hard. But making your tables wait on you it's not acceptable. Your supposed to serve your tables aka your guests. 90 secs or less to every table is the standard. Hong Fong your server and over servers were 10 to 15 feet from my table. Apon exiting and telling your cashier you had nothing to say. I don't care how long you've been in business in San Antonio you cannot survive giving bad service!

We went for a work group lunch, yes they do have good specials. Pretty basic for basic American Chinese....
