The menu is simple yet complex. It is to Die for. It blew my expectations away. I've been to Japan and have always chased that amazing experience. This place gots the Goods.

The food isn't as good as it used to be.

I came in right when they opened a Sunday morning and it was not crowded the whole time I was there. The waitress was perfect. I ordered the TanTanMan ramen. The food came out in a timely manner. Now, on to the food. It was sufficiently spicy and filling. I had a lot of broth leftover but I have a hard time figuring out portioning when I go out to eat. I kind of figured I would have a lot leftover. The furniture… the furniture is totally and utterly uncomfortable. Lacquered plywood with only the benches having some sort of pillow to sit on. It hurts the body.

If you haven’t tried JY yet, i cannot recommend it enough! It is a quaint and comfortable establishment with a menu that delivers a fair amount of options without being overwhelming or pricey. As for appetizers, my favorites are the takoyaki, the seafood gyoza, and the sweet and sour yodas. As a main dish the spicy tokyo miso ramen is perfect for two people to share, or for one person with a big appetite or looking to have leftovers (this is the category i fall in, lol). The thai milk tea, taro milk tea, and red sweet tea are also very good to sip on while you dine. Of course I must mention the cute and helpful waiter, Shane. He is delightful and will gladly run around attending to tables to ensure customers have the best dining experience they can. The same goes for the waitress, Jackie, who is an absolute angel and very helpful with questions about the menu. I gladly dine at this establishment at least once a month, and have never had a bad experience. Come to JY if you haven’t yet!

Worst ramen I have ever had in my life. Didn't end up eating it and was still forced to pay for it.Mind you I got gyoza and eat those. They were okay and was fine paying for those.Food had no taste and when it does its just super heavy on the soy sauce, nothing else. Got the spicy ramen and it had no spice or flavor.Walmart ramen is 10 times better. Save your money and go somewhere else. Also made my friend sick who did eat it. Overall just a weird place. 0/10 would not recommend. Negative numbers and would give it negative stars if I could.

The lady works at the front is super nice and that’s the only good part of this place.Foods are absolutely no no.I got tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. So bad I couldn’t even finish…I should’ve known when it’s lunch time and only one table was eating…No gatsuobushi on takoyaki and ramen was so weak. Will never go back.

Our second time here, first time we got Togo and this time we dined in. We got the Panko chicken app and 2x tonkotsu ramen We also had the strawberry mochi ice cream and it was so good. The waitress was very friendly and personable. If you like a little spice, I would ask for the spicy paste and only put a little bit in at a time in your ramen until you achieve your desired spice level.Affordable and good.Definitely will be back!

This place must have fake reviews cause the broth was so bland and the noodles were horrible I ordered it spicy as well and maybe they don't know what they are doing but no spicy flavors detected...will never buy from this place again

Had the miso ramen. It was delicious. I had never had the miso with ground pork. The texture of the meat was different but good flavor. My son got the tonkatsu and was disappointed in the lack of depth to the broth. Shane was a great server.

Worst restaurant in San Antonio, I would give zero star if I could. The server was super sweet, except the manger/owner was extremely rude. They brought me the wrong order even tho I stated that I can’t have pork and it’s against my religion. The manger got mad, when I told him that’s not what I order. He said “that’s waste of food, and you have to pay for it.” They ended up charging me for something I didn’t order.

Very good ramen! Noodles awesome, broth great flavor, good amount of sides. Only downer is they charge for chili paste. I ordered a spicy miso and it wasn’t very hot and I didn’t want to pay for more.
