La Fogata Mexican Cuisine

Was a really nice place to take my family. Beautiful atmosphere, decent food, great service, overall good experience. It can be a little warm in the summertime, so if that really bothers you, you might wanna go a different time of the year because it's all outdoor patio dining. It has covers and fans but not air-conditioning 

This is by far my most favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio. It's definitely a hidden gem. Even though it's hot sitting outdoors right now feels absolutely amazing, they have waterfalls music and the margaritas are phenomenal. Can't wait to come back.

To be honest, I knew it didn’t start off well when there’s two homeless people in the parking lot. The service took forever, Almost felt like we were ignored. The food lacked taste, BUT THE MARIACHI BAND WAS SUPER DOPE!

Cool atmosphere, but unfortunately the food did not taste fresh or high quality. I ordered the enchiladas verdes, and they had very little cheese. The shredded chicken was tough and difficult to chew, which made it seem as though it had been sitting for a while. I’d rate the enchiladas a 2/10. The queso was better—I’d give it a 6/10—and the fajitas were also an improvement, though they still weren’t anything particularly memorable. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience.

Food was still good but not as good as last time, seems like something changed.

It's as if you step into another world. The ambience, the textures, the atmosphere, the service and food, it's all so relaxing, fresh, and absolutely delictable!! The food alone is very well priced and absolutely above par, for any other restaurant you may find. Please visit, and I dare you to tell me I'm wrong! Very attentive service, very hospitable manager, very accommodating for everyone!

Friendly service but could tell either overworked or understaffed. The Parrillada for 2 wasn't worth it. Ribs had a red paste type rub or sauce with a strange taste. Not enough beef fajitas, stretch it out to make 2 tacos. Jumbo shrimp was overcooked and dry. Only 2 small pieces of chicken. The pablano peppers were filled with a spicy cream cheese which combined with grilled onions is good but too many over burnt onions that couldn't be eaten. Rice, beans and tortillas are good. Eat inside if possible, eat outside if dressed very casual.

This place was horrible. I paid for my food tasted it and left. We didn’t eat. We went to a different restaurant. $103 dollars unbelievable.

Enjoyable as always...been coming to this place for 37 years...I've been in love with this place ever since...definitely eat on the patio and have some awesome Margaritas!!!

Used to love this place but food gone downhill. Was super disappointed this last visit.

La Fogata was an amazing restaurant! Can't wait to go back.

Food and drinks were excellent, looking over my credit card charges from the evening gathering I had with 15 people at our table. There was a photographer there taking pictures of the event , my mother paid cash for 8 pictures, at 150.00 dollars,I am seeing a charge of 150.00 on my credit card from a photographer , I called la fogata about this situation and they claim they do not know the name of the company or have the phone number to this company, so la fogata is letting anyone come in the restaurant and make fraudulent charges to thier customers, I also did not give the photographer my credit card, just the restaurant only, so how did the photographer get my credit card information. Makes me wonder if someone in the restaurant is part of this SCAM. Make sure you check your credit card statements from this restaurant. This is the last time I will be coming to this restaurant.

I have loved La Fogata for years. I go back every time I am in San Antonio. Still the best Texmex anywhere. Atmosphere is authentic.
