Labor Street Cafe is a local, family-owned cafe that serves delicious and fresh food. The staff are busy making sure tables are cleared and coffee is hot, and they are very friendly and helpful. This quaint, cozy space is a neighborhood gem, surrounded by the work of local artists.
The food is scratch-made with quality ingredients. Highlights include the Eggs Benedict, with perfectly poached eggs, and the Tejas Club and burger. The Turkey Sandwich is phenomenal, with sun-dried tomatoes adding rich depth. Other great options are the French toast, sausage and gravy, cinnamon rolls, and pancakes, all described as delicious. The maple brown sugar latte is very good, and smoothies and muffins are healthy. There can be a bit of a wait on food, around 35-40 minutes, but the atmosphere is calming. Ordering is done at the front counter, then food is brought to the table. The hospitality is top-tier, and the service is excellent and attentive. With extended dinner hours, this is a wonderful neighborhood spot to support.
