Order on 13 April 2024, Babcock location --This USED to be a favorite location for steak tacos. Now it's gone downhill. The tacos al carbon were ordered to go, along with 8 oz of guacamole. The tortillas for the tacos were FULL of oil. The tortillas only need to be heated, not drenched with oil. These were the worst tacos in San Antonio. There was literally oil all over the bottom of the container, under the tacos! Also, they put a cup of cheese in the bag instead of the $6 guacamole! Two huge mistakes for a simple order.I took the cheese back and got my refund for the guac.I also showed the manager ALL of the oil still in the to go container and he didn't want to look at it. I said no, look at this AND show it to the kitchen staff. This is unacceptable. You need to show this to the cooks and tell them this is way too much oil for tacos. The manager didn't even apologize for the mistakes. This location has gone to the bottom with a desperate need for better management and cooks.

We asked to be seated outdoors. Since the patio is near Babcock Rd., it got a bit noisy at times. But the noise wasn't the fault of the restaurant. The food was excellent, the people I was with fantastic, the service was attentive, but not hovering. Three of our party, of 6, had special requests that were met with great satisfaction. We all agreed this restaurant is worth another visit.

My recent visit to Las Palapas left much to be desired, primarily due to the lackluster service experienced on the patio. Despite the promising ambiance and tasty food, the overall experience was marred by multiple instances of neglectful service.Upon being seated on the patio, My toddler and I eagerly awaited our meals. However, upon their arrival, I realized I had not been provided with proper silverware, no knife to cut his food up. Despite notifying our waitress immediately, we were left waiting for an unreasonably long time. Frustrated by the delay, I had to take matters into my own hands. I had to pack my toddler out of the high chair to go venture inside to request utensils from the staff. After returning to the table, the once calm toddler was not wanting to get back into the high chair. That I shouldn't have had to take him out of. Making the meal less enjoyable. The disappointing service continued as we finished our meal. Despite patiently ready to settle the bill, I found myself waiting for over 20 minutes without any sign of our check. Meanwhile dealing with an impatient 18 month old.. Eventually, I decided to take matters into my own hands once again and approached the cashier inside. It was disheartening to see that our absence had gone unnoticed, and we had to inform them that we had been waiting outside for our check. The most disappointing aspect of my experience was the response from the manager. Upon being informed of the situation, they brushed off our concerns with a dismissive attitude, instructing the cashier to simply "ring em up" as if our inconvenience was inconsequential. This lack of acknowledgment and accountability only served to exacerbate my frustration. In conclusion, this visit to Las Palapas was the worst I have experienced. The combination of neglectful service, long wait times, and a dismissive attitude from management left a sour taste in my mouth. It is evident that there is a dire need for improvement in both staff training and customer care at this location. As a longtime patron of Las Palapas, I sincerely hope that steps will be taken to address these issues and restore the quality of service that patrons expect and deserve.

It's better to go to location on Callahan. The one on Babcock won't give you napkins or tortillas that comes with your meal unless you ask. Other location is much better.
