It’s not every day you get to meet the person an establishment is named after, but that’s exactly what happened last night when my friends and I went to grab a drink and enjoy some live music. We arrived just in time for Happy Hour on Friday, which runs from 2 p.m. to close—great prices and delicious drinks to start the evening off right. The atmosphere was fantastic, with vibrant vibes that made the night feel special.
As the night went on, we got super hungry, and that’s when the real surprise hit. We started with fried okra and bacon, and I was blown away. The fried okra was perfectly crispy, paired with a homemade ranch that was simply irresistible. The bacon was sweet, cooked to perfection, and came hanging from a cool contraption—definitely a fun touch! The quesadilla we ordered next was out of this world. By the third dish, I knew the quality of the food was far beyond what I expected—it was clear these folks really care about what they serve and put so much love into every bite.
My friends and I came for a good time, but we ended up leaving with full bellies and a new favorite spot to visit more often. But the night didn’t end there. Lucy, the owner (and the namesake of the restaurant), came by to serve us the best fried chicken in San Antonio—and quite possibly all of Texas! She wasn’t kidding when she said the bucket of fried chicken would be life-changing and spiritually awakening. It was absolutely the best fried chicken I’ve had since living in Georgia!
Lucy’s hospitality was second to none. She personally checked on every guest, and her staff followed suit, making us feel like we were family. To top it off, we ordered her special beignets, which were to die for.
When it was time to leave, Lucy herself was at the door, sending us off with a smile. This place has quickly become one of my top spots, all from just one visit. They’re committed to elevated service and food, and the use of beef tallow for frying is a game changer—it not only makes everything taste amazing but is also a healthier choice. Don’t forget to try their homemade sauces, especially the hot sauce! I truly hope everyone gives this place a try—you’re missing out if you don’t.

Had a billing issue two weeks later no follow through. 80 bucks on a 45 dollar tab. Our group used to go there twice a week. We found a new place.
MAKE SURE YOU GET A COPY OF YOUR TAB.
Beer specials are very good, bee selection excellent, and the shrimp boil absolutely finger licking good. The service was top-notch.

I still need to work my way through their awesome menu choices. I finally got to introduce my daughter to the cheeseburger egg rolls. Already introduced them to my son, since having to be 21. Me and my daughter also got the shrimp bucket with sweet potato fries and shared everything. Love the sweet potato fries seasoning. Shrimp was great and the egg rolls are always awesome! Looking forward to a solo future dinner and getting the catfish, which was also recommended!
Always great service and food on every visit!
Presentation is also great and unique on some items. Try the pretzels or bacon too!
Additionally the sweet tea was strong and fresh!

Stars if allowed. Have been a couple of times with my 21yr. Old daughter. She doesn’t drink so has never been carded. Went this time and she forgot her ID. Told the staff she wasn’t drinking, but they refused to serve her food without ID. I understand not serving alcohol, that’s state law. Not serving food is a choice they made. Will never go back
