Tex Mex fare, made in house. Breakfast and lunch place, large selection of dishes. Great salsa and scratch made chips. Staff was helpful with suggestions and very friendly. Felt like a place the locals go.

If you work downtown it's great but we don't. Had pay 17.00 to park. Food is great and staff great. Caution danger if you need use bathrooms it's in basement 3 flight of stairs also very dark. My mom and I fell going downstairs managed to catch ourselves.

Treated like you're home, a nice happy home with great cooking. I came at noon since it's a few minutes from work to find a warm and welcoming place. It's busy but still attentive. The salsa and chips were great. I ordered the tortilla soup and will again. The top grade inspection and blue plate award are well deserved.

Friendly service and good food at a good price. What more can you want? Would be a regular stop if I lived in San Antonio.

The Poco de Todo plate was very good!Being downtown, parking is always an issue. But, if you are downtown in the morning, I would definitely recommend this spot.

Lula's is great if you wanna try the famous "puffy taco" of Texas. It's a fried, puffy tortilla with choice of beef or chicken with guac, yellow cheese, shredded lettuce and tomato. I preferred the beef over chicken and the rice + beans were also really good. The drinks (iced tea) was huge! You can get a to go cup for 50 cents more. Service was great. My only critique is that puffy tacos in general are a bit greasy, so more of an FYI. Overall I would definitely be back when in town.

Looking for a quality taco joint. Stop at Lula's. The tortillas are delicious. The potatos...mmmmmm. Our weekly Date Day started off right! The only dilemma we encountered was which salsa to choose...Red or green

9-9-22. Daily Specials greet you as you walk in, a cool indoor retreat on a hot day! Repeat customers. We instantly were offered freshly made chips & salsa, tall glasses iced water while perusing the menu. . Prices are inexpensive, wheelchair & family friendly, homestyle, small square tables with well padded comfy chairs. A total of $15.00 for 2 lunches. My husband ordered a Beef Puffy Taco beans & rice. Taco was overflowung with beef & veggies topped with dollop of sour cream & 2 Tbsp fresh Guacamole, he said delicious! I ordered a Beef Enchilada-presented in a red tortilla with beans, rice & fresh off the grill tortilla!Beef on their menu refers to ground beef.Inexpensive, worth the walk from The Pearl, Riverwalk, El Mercado & Marketplace - an easy15-20 min walk. Our waitress & daughter work here, maybe Lula's is family owned + run?Last photos taken nearby...Google's Local Guide, Oui C'est Moi, Valerie

Lula's is a very friendly hole-in-the-wall restaurant that I found on a business trip. What a great find! It was my first time trying puffy tacos, and they did not disappoint! The staff was extremely friendly, even though I came in shortly before closing time. Highly recommend!

Fast, delicious, inexpensive and clean place. No frills. The staff is friendly and fast. The bldg is beautiful example of historic San Antonio. The access to surrounding hotels where you get gouged for breakfast of some muffins and Coffee and swanky river view.

Amazing food at a great price, but sometimes they don't offer chips and salsa to go before 11am

I was craving some food downtown. I walked upon Lula's and thought I would try the cheese enchiladas. Before my plate came out they brought chips and salsa and it was really really good. My enchilada plate was decent but I would have liked more cheese inside the enchiladas. I gave 4 stars overall for the price and the really good chips and salsa. Next time I will try a different plate.

Solid start to your day~ pancakes were perfect as were the huevos rancheros. Regular drip coffee and standard half and half were much needed fuel for the day ahead. Restaurant is very clean and the staff is very professional.
