The place is very nice, and the food is generally delicious. The dishes took too long to arrive.

Put Maverick Texas Brasserie on your bucket list of things to do in San Antonio. You will not be disappointed. The service is top-notch (Thank you, Jacoby!). We ordered the bread basket, french onion soup, Mixed Grill, and gnocchi side dish. Their namesake cocktail is also great! 5 stars all the way around. I forgot to take pictures. I'm going to have to go back for the burger, anyway, so I'll remember next time. UPDATE: We returned, and the same service, food, and atmosphere deserve a 5 rating. How do I determine a 5 rating? If I leave and I want to tell the next friend I communicate with about my experience - that's a 5. This time, we ordered the Maverick Burger and the nightly special: Cordon Bleu, served with a house salad and Peanut Butter and Chocolate Plat de Crème for dessert. This time, I remembered the photos.

When I first walked in, I LOVED the vibes of this place. Our waitress was friendly, the atmosphere was cute, and their menu had many options. However, when I received my entree (creme stuffed chicken), the chicken was undercooked. Our waitress immediately assisted us and notified the manager and cook. She was very efficient. The manager never came and talked to us, nor offered an apology or compensation. We were offered a "coke or tea" for the inconvenience. The best part of the meal was the dessert. It was delicious, with a candle for my birthday.

We spent Christmas Eve in this restaurant, despite a somewhat slow service, we had a pleasant time and the quality of the dishes was there, good and generous. All for an affordable price, I recommend.

Came here for brunch. The eggs tasted like oil, perhaps they used too much when cooking them. The Steak was not very tasty and had a lot of fat. Additionally the chimichurri sauce on top was a no go for me. The fries were alright, but also had that slight oily taste. Lastly, My friend found a fly in their mimosa leaving us unsatisfied with our experience.

To start with, we booked a reservation with the Maverick on 10/25 for a belated anniversary dinner. We made this notation on the reservation, and they went above and beyond to make the evening special for me and my love. That in and of itself would make us loyal customers. It's rare to see people who obviously enjoy what they do and strive to make others' lives better when they enter their sphere of excellence. Our server, Jadyn, was fantastic; she was warm and funny while still maintaining excellent professionalism and knowledge of the menu. The food was fantastic; we ordered a bread basket with whipped butter and escargot de Provence for appetizers, and both were fabulous, the bread warm, toasty, and very flavorful The escargot was herbaceous and excellently seasoned in its garlic/parsley butter, topped with a perfectly crisp truffled puff pastry right on top. It made for a wonderful bite with a great mouthfeel. My main course was the pan-seared duck breast, which was paired with a port wine gastrique, roasted grapes, and served with some crispy onions and a small astringent salad. The flavors were all on point, and they contrasted and complemented each other very well. The duck was excellently seasoned and perfectly cooked to a nice medium rare while still having very crispy skin. The sauce pairing was tart and sweet and layered the natural game of the duck very well. The onions were a great addition to the mix for an extra crisp texture and a subtle addition to the flavor. The astringent salad was arugula, a lite dressing, and some savory cheese. I think it was gorgonzola. But it was fantastic as a finisher to cleanse the palate. We finished with the truffled gnocchi, and God was it good, creamy with a perfect earthiness and funk from the truffle. Finally, the drinks were wonderful and obviously made with care and attention. My love had the Bonne Chance, which was a gingery and boozy wonder, while I had a wonderful Scotch Sour. They finished us out with a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The staff, food, and location are perfect here.

Food was good, but the host horrible at her job. We end up waiting for 45 mins when she said it only take 10 mins to set up a table...

We went in after a chilly morning. The staff was not sure if they were coming in that day, so they were down a few members. Regardless, the staff made us feel welcome and were quite humourous even after I initially started our conversation and made almost no sense 😂. The food was so delicious!!!! I got the mussels that were in this buttery wine white sauce. Hands down best I've ever had. Will be coming in again.

We were so excited to try this place for our first Valentine’s Day. We traveled all the way from Houston to celebrate. I had made a red weeks ago and all the reviews were positive. They have a preset menu for Valentine’s Day which was $100 per person. That understandable for such holiday. We got there a little before our reservation was and were seated quickly. The service was great and the staff was so nice and attentive BUT the food was not. Firstly we ordered drinks from the valentines menu which were extremely strong. The best part of the whole 4 course meal was dessert. We ordered the charcuterie board for the first course. The pairings were nice. For our second we choose the Caesar Salad. This was alright. The salad was dry and we had some not so good looking pieces of romaine. Our next course was our main. We chose the filet and quail. The filet was nice but the quail….hard pass. It was so hard to cut and was extremely chewy. I was so disappointed and at that point ready to leave. We didn’t even bother eating it. My fiancé chose the red snapper and lobster ravioli. That was delicious and we ended up both eating from his plate. Lastly was the dessert. Our favorite. We chose one of each of the offerings both were amazing. The totaled almost $300 for both of us. For that price everything should have been absolutely excellent and this place did not achieve that. This is our first and last time visiting this place.
