Small Cafe in the Elon Hotel, get coffee and fresh made muffins and breakfast tacos and the weekends have bigger plates. Friendly staff makes the visit a pleasure.

From the food to the service to the atmosphere, everything was mid, at best. The menu is limited and meals are overpriced. My salmon was WAY overcooked, to the point of the ends being burnt and so dry, but my cauliflower mash was delicious. My husband's ribeye was amazing, but his potatoes were undercooked and had no flavor. So the meal was hit or miss on everything.

I guess this is a Starbucks franchise. They sell all Starbucks coffee plus a ton of typical hotel snacks. The employees were nice and they had everything I wanted. However the people behind me tried to order 2 food items off the menu and they either weren't ready or were sold out of those things.

OUR VEHICLE WAS STOLEN FROM VALET PARKING! ! ! Valet parking is mandatory. The valet service parked our vehicle in an area with no security cameras and they do not patrol the parking lot. I was told that there have been break ins there before yet there are still no security cameras or patrolling security guards .... The valet service is a separate company from the hotel, and upon confrontation, the valet service manager immediately began absolving the valet service from any liabliity. On to the hotel itself: ----------overall------------ Rooms are comparable to a typical Laquinta or Holiday Inn, but definately not what you would expect for the price. Room service is non-existent. Amenities are quite nice. ----------negative------------ 1) Stolen vehicle 2) Room service is non-existent. We asked for towels and they dropped off a trashbag of towels... 3) Soda machine overcharged our credit card. 4) Dirty q-tip was in our room on arrival. 5) Found the wing of some type of bug in the room. 6) No vent fan in restroom. 7) Water was hard. 8) Bathtub floor has peeling paint 9) TV is outdated ----------positive------------ 1) Really cool outdoor pool 2) Nice lobby area 3) Close to Fiesta Texas, Bass Pro Shops , etc 4) Fast elevators 5) Nice cafe and restaurant 6) Nice staff (untill your vehicle gets stolen) 7) Really cool fitness center ----------takeaway ------------ If you stay here be sure to wake up every 30 minutes at night to do a perimeter check, because the hotel sure isn't, and you might lose your vehicle.

My husband and I are owners and were scheduled to come here to learn how to use our points properly. Before we arrived, I decided to check the reviews for the hotel...... worst idea ever!! Almost every review had something terrible to say about the hotel or staff. I was already warning my husband about our possibly horrible stay. I am pleased to say that our stay was good! Yes, there is no housekeeping, but we didn't mind it. We are generally clean people. If we had big trash articles, we would take it out to the nearest big trash can in the lobby on our way out. The property is valet only, which I enjoyed. The valet staff could learn to be more mature/professional in front of guests, but they did their job very proficiently. They even asked if we would need the car anytime soon so that they could keep the car close to the front for us. We booked a massage at the spa, which the massage itself was GREAT, but the amenities at the spa were limited compared to prior resorts I have experienced. They gave me Massage Envy vibes, so for the price, it's not worth it. The outdoor pool was okay. I was expecting more since we were told they had just had it remodeled it. We arrived at the pool at 7:30 pm so we wouldn't get cooked by the sun. But the bar was already closed. We still enjoyed a nice swim and conversed with random strangers from all over the country. I had read about problems with the AC in the room. We were fortunate not to experience any issues with our room. Overall we had a great time here.

Our last stay at Eilan was 5 years ago. It was good then, but a complete disaster now. Rooms show wear and tear. Spots on the sheets. No room service and no housekeeping. They don’t even have luggage carts! New owner pushing time shares. Stay away.

We reserved and paid for the room for friends who just got married. They asked the front desk the night before checkout for a late check out the next day and were told they needed to call in the morning. They woke up the next morning and called the desk for a late check out. They were then told they needed to let them know by 7 a.m. This was not communicated the night before and let's be real, who wakes up at 7 a.m. to request a late check out. They also could not find an open restaurant that morning to order breakfast. Very poor customer service. Talked with the front desk manager, Shelby and she was very unprofessional and pretty much defended the actions of her front desk responses. Very poor customer service. Will not be recommending this hotel to anyone going forward.

Nice place. Beds could be a little better. No microwave in room. Only 1 on another floor. Very high pressure sales. I would refuse any sales meetings here. Clean resort. Valet parking only. Close to Fiesta Texas.

The management and staff are the most incompetent group of individuals I’ve ever dealt with. There is a reason this hotel is a bargain compared to La Cantera. I left an envelope with Cash for a guest. When they went to pick it up, the front desk informed the guest that they gave the envelope to the Valet. I later asked to speak to the manager who said “it’s just a misunderstanding and there’s nothing they could do”. They made no attempt to return the money or even give me a credit. They literally stole my money. At any other hotel, they would have made some sort of effort to credit me or recoup the money. But I was basically told it was my fault. This is the difference in a cheap hotel that’s trying to be a resort, and an actually resort. Do yourself a favor and stay next door.

Avoid this hotel/resort like your life is at stake. Totally dysfunctional. The only restaurant is never open for breakfast. Only option for breakfast is a small cafe with Starbucks and some baked goods. Valet parking is mandatory and $35 a night. There no room service. There is no housekeeping during the stay. I can’t think is a single positive thing to say about our stay here.

Will never be coming back here again and would never recommend this hotel. There were multiple problems within our only two-day stay. When we arrived we were told that vallet is mandatory even though there is a guest parking lot less than a block away. When we asked about the guest parking lot they said that they wouldn't be liable for any damages if someone vandalized or broke into our car in the guest parking lot, insinuating that there WOULD be damages to our car. There was no information prior to our stay that told us the only parking option is valet. The attendant at the front desk went on to provide multiple horror stories of people having their car broken into strictly because they parked in the guest parking lot. After doing some research we found out that even in the valet, your car will be broken into. It was unnecessary for the person at the front desk to try these scare tactics and guilt us into getting the valet. After that, the front desk attendant proceeded to charge my wife's card for the room and for the security deposit even though I already provided them with my card prior to check in online and it was charged already for the room and for the security deposit. After checking in, we were told that there is no housekeeping service unless you pay a $90 fee and room service is not and option. The hallway leading to our room reeked of animal or human urine and trash was left unattended outside of multiple rooms. On one of the days the elevator had vomit in it that had not properly been cleaned. The hotel mentions that there are multiple eating options, most of which are temporarily closed. Would definitely not recommend staying here especially since they are considering themselves a luxury resort.

Beyond disappointing for the price. Eilan advertises a resort-like experience without the basic amenities and customer service of a Motel 8. While the grounds are well maintained and there is good shopping and restaurants in the area (not affiliated with Eilan), these things didn't make up for the hotel's shortcomings. There were many issues during our week-long stay here, I'll highlight a few. When we arrived for our 5 night stay, we lowered our AC to 68. While the thermostat read it was at 68, we had to sleep without covers it was so hot in our room. By the last night, our room's temperature had crept up to 75. The only good customer service experience was with Manny, the maintenance employee who brought us box fans for the night. The AC had gone out in the hallways and several rooms. It wasn't fixed until the next afternoon. While it was in the 40's outside, our room remained at 75 all night. The front desk was very aware of this and offered no resolution. Disappointing. Do not expect housekeeping during your stay. Over the course of a week, we had to continuously call for fresh towels, a change of linens, toilet paper and trash removal. When I called the front desk, I was repeatedly told "we'll see what we can do." You're at the mercy of whatever the front desk decides is good for you, not what you need as a paying guest. Asking for fresh towels is not an absurd request at a hotel you're staying at for a week. The same trend happened when asking for toilet paper, trash removal and clean sheets. When we requested a change of sheets, we were told we would need to remove our sheets, place them outside of our door, new sheets would be set outside and we will have to make the bed ourselves. No fitted sheets, we asked. Again, disappointing. To top it all off, my husband's truck had the catalytic converter stolen the final night in the parking lot of Eilan. The valet is $35/day - we drove two cars and were told a week before our stay by the hotel staff that Eilan owned all of the parking and land around the hotel. So, we valet parked my car and parked my husband's truck in a lot directly by the hotel. This lot had the exact signage as the other lots on the property. When I called the hotel to let them know, I spoke with a manager named Claire or Chloe (not sure which). This is when all of the poor customer service we had experienced for a week came full circle. If she is setting the standard, the bar is not set high. As I was trying to explain to her the theft that had happened, she was clearly having another conversation with someone beside her. I wasn't asking for anything from her, just to simply let her know this theft had happened hours before on their property. Ironically, a security guard for the hotel was just standing at the front desk when we left that morning - clearly not doing a lot of good. She quickly told me that lot was not their property and we had been told wrong information. I find it interesting that they claim all the property around the hotel when they want you to use their valet service, but as soon as something bad happens, it's suddenly not their property. She asked for my name and number and let me know their General Manager would call me. I have yet to receive a call. Do not waste your money here. There are hotels much closer to downtown San Antonio who actually live up to expectations. I no longer accept COVID as an excuse for providing poor service. It's been 3 years. Pay people appropriately to work for you so your customers do not have to pay full price for half the service.
