Someone at Mr. C's is a bona-fide Southern Cook who knows what they're doing. Stopped by to try: 1) chicken wings with waffle fries and 2) the deep-fried pork chop with cole slaw and mac n' cheese.Chop(s) were delicious and perfectly fried. Cole slaw's fresh and crisp, though mac n' cheese is bland. Only hiccup was that they didn't come with the gravy as ordered, and it took a while to get the gravy - and this was when there were only three other diners in the restaurant! On top of that, the gravy desperately needed some pepper to make it top-notch.Fries were excellent, and the wings very good, though the 'Honey Hot' sauce tastes almost identical to Buffalo sauce. Ambiance is pretty old school, it's definitely not date-night material but comfortable enough. On the balance good food with a few minor hiccups in the food and service. Definite recommend and will come again. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below.5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here.4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary.3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad.2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here.1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

My family and I decided to give this place a try since we always drive past it after my son's practice, and our friends recommended this place as well. My husband loves chicken fried steak and chicken and waffles, so he was excited about coming here. The food was delicious. I ordered chicken wings (half hot honey and lemon pepper), my son also got lemon pepper wings, and my husband ordered chicken fried steak. According to my husband, it was hands down one of the best chicken fried steak he has had since we moved here, and I have to agree after he gave me a few bites. We also all ordered Kool-Aid, and it was delicious as well. We ordered our daughter chicken and waffles to go, and she loved it. The food is cooked after you order, so expect to wait a bit. The ambiance is great. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back to try other food items on the menu.

I gave them 5 stars for service bc they were extremely understaffed and doing the best they could. I can't stand when ppl bash employees who are actually doing their best under circumstances that are obviously out of their control. We stopped into town on business briefly, and my husband wanted chicken and waffles; Google led us here. Food was good. Watermelon lemonade was good, though it didn't need so much ice. Would return.

The food was very delicious. Hands down one of the best chicken fried steaks I've had in a long time. The grape Kool-Aid was awesome. The service was a little off. But you could tell they were doing the best they could, so I applaud everybody working there.

I was looking for a new place to eat and found this place online so i thought i would give it a shot. They weren't very busy and Amanda my waitress was super sweet and the whole experience a joy. I asked what she reccomended and she told me what she liked which i always appreciate. I decided on the fried chicken even though i was seriously tempted by the smothered pork chops... but that will be for next time. They make their chicken fresh so there was a bit of a wait but i am OK with that if it is going to be fresh like this...it was amazing the crust was crispy and very flavorful i ordered waffle fries and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was good. The only down side was the waffle fries were a little too salty. The sweet tea was also very good. I got up to pay and i saw the cake sitting there and i was like ok i can't eat that now but i do want a piece to take home. My waitress was so sweet she even cut me an extra big piece. Overall it was a great first experience. Amanda was great and the food is very very good. I will definitely be back to try the pork chops.

The food is excellent no doubt,However even when you understand that every food place is understaffed the waitress in here ignore you from the door to be sit, bring menu, take the order order waiting on the window even to paid the bill, is ridiculous. To management advice your host, cashiers and waitresses to communicate with you clients, (how many people )(please wait few minutes while we clean tables to sit you, ) (someone will be with you shortly ) or something… on this experience wasn’t rush time, (Huebner location)tables empty and other with dirty dishes, the cashier was on the cellphone and waitress talking with kitchen staff, look over few times but continued talking with staff, Boss-boy also chatting line for people to paid other to be sitting. Hope this change soon.

I’ve been craving chicken and waffles since I left the East coast, so I was excited to give this place a try. The day we went it was pretty empty, only one other table there. The food was cooked to order so there was a bit of a wait. The upside is our food came out hot and it was all very good. My husband loved the pork chops, they were fried to perfection and had a nice crunch. His cabbage was also really good. He rated his plate a 5.The chicken and waffles weren’t too bad. I would get it again the next time my husband is in the mood for his chops (he said we’re definitely going back for that) but I can’t say I would make a special trip just for that. The kool aid was super sweet just how it’s supposed to be lol (we got grape and red ?).Overall collectively as a group we settled on 4/5 stars so that’s what you get. It’s worth a try!

Everything was great! The girl that served us was so sweet. Sadly she had to serve us and 5 other tables because they are short staffed, but she did well making sure everyone was happy. The grits were bland and lumpy but everything else was pretty good & packed with flavor!

Lovvved the pumpkin waffle . The chicken was moist and tremendous in size for the price. They serve dinner and breakfast and have a nice size menue even though the sign says chicken and waffles they have a ton to choose from. All in all loved this place and will be back in the future when I’m in the area.

I have been wanting chicken and waffles for a while now . This place hit the spot . I ordered the number two which is chicken breast , a wing , and one waffle. It was more than enough for me . I also had grape kool aid. The staff is very friendly . The restaurant is very clean. We went in before the lunch rush so we were seated right away. I hope they make their way to the Cibolo area. This place is one of my favorites . I Recommend the fried green tomatoes !

It's a spacious and clean place with tasteful decor. Service is good but slow. The server was polite and friendly but overwhelmed. Food was above average. The mashed potato (with little bits of skin - the way I like it) and sweet corn I ordered were properly balanced in flavor. The meatloaf had quality ingredients. However it was saltier than I like. The food serving size was above average as well. It is easily enough for two. In the pic, the meatloaf was as tall as the pepper shaker. I'll be back again go give the pork chop, catfish, and fried chicken a try.
