NONNA Osteria - Downtown

My wife and I loved the cheese wheel pasta and the steak and truffle fries was also delicious.

The food was less than average compared to what we've experienced before. I was craving the truffle pasta for my birthday and it just wasn't as good as it usually is...very disappointing. Cocktails were excellent, though. Service was also poor. We received bread after about 35 minutes and didn't see any other food for an hour. The server did not tend very well to our table which was also disappointing. Having worked in the hospitality industry, I have a lot of patience if they seem in the weeds, but this was just a lack of attention to tables. It was sad to have a poor experience on my birthday. The food is usually so good!!

We first visited Nonna Osteria when celebrating our 40th anniversary back in August, and had such a wonderful experience that we couldn't wait to return. So when we planned a trip to San Antonio to see Paul McCartney, I quickly made reservations. We started with a nice bottle of Valpolicella and the calamari appetizer. The three sauces were great, but the calamari itself was a bit too greasy this time. My husband had the Fileto (beef tenderloin) and found the combination of sauce and seasonings a little intense — one of those times when a simpler preparation might have been better. I had the Zucca (butternut squash ravioli), which I enjoyed. We finished our meal with their delicious tiramisu — the perfect ending. We love the location and the inviting atmosphere. Despite a couple of small misses, it's still a wonderful dining experience and one we would definitely recommend. And, If you get a chance, have a drink at the rooftop bar.

Fantastic dinner, drinks, and dessert! Everything was lovely. Sam was a wonderful server, too!

So love this place. You guys are the best!! Especially the service, wine list and personal touches.

A wonderful Italian experience in the heart of San Antonio. We were staying 1 night on the way through town and were having a hard time finding the right alignment of Dinner, Drinks and a room, without having to move around a lot. We landed on Nonna (being in a beautiful hotel) and it completely exceeded our expectations. Bartender is absolutely phenomenal, wine list is well curated and thoughtful, servers are VERY knowledgeable of the menu and the wine list and most importantly, the food is very well executed. A beautiful experience and reasonably priced for the top notch experience! Lots of character here and should not be missed.

Always a wonderful experience. Food is fresh and flavorful. Although our server just started working there, she was great and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful and a convenient walk for us. Will return next time we are in San Antonio.

Atmosphere and our server were amazing, the appetizer and desert were outstanding. Entrées were hit or miss. One of ours had delicious flavor that was sweet and savory all in one bite. The other fell a bit short and was under seasoned and missed the par when compared to the appetizer with the sams protein. Our waiter was outstanding with recommendations and service and made our visit outstanding. Even when explaining the short fall of our dish he offered solutions and even told the chef (with an open kitchen view we could see the explanation which was nice) what had been missing and the comments and praises that we had. We will for sure visit again on our next trip into San Antonio

We had a wonderful experience. Food and service were amazing. We had the Caprese, Burrata, Swordfish and the Lobster Ravioli. We left happy and content. We will definitely be back.

The whole experience at Nonna Osteria made my wife's birthday a very special night. We arrived and received complimentary valet parking. They welcomed us as we entered the restaurant by wishing my wife a Happy Birthday and providing her a glass of champagne. Our waitress was outstanding and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion!

Nonna Osteria continues to deliver! We were among the first diners when it opened several years ago. A recently updated menu hit the mark from the antipasti to homemade pastas and innovative mains. The hard-working Luca and his staff are always attentive and helpful in choosing just the right wine and guiding each diner in our party toward dishes that they enjoyed. Luca, your Nonna would be proud!

My boyfriend and I went for my birthday dinner last night. We are from Vegas and wanted somewhere nice to meet up with my friends whom I haven't seen in almost 10 years. The food, drinks, environment, service, and atmosphere just added to the already wonderful experience. From the front door, to our table, and rooftop deck, it was all amazing. We truly appreciated the honesty and knowledge our server Brandon who was very patient with us considering the other half of our party was 1/2 hour late! But he and all the staff were awesome and we can't wait to go back :)

Superb staff. Every server save one came by to bring something or to ask if I needed anything or if everything was good!!! The GM was there and even came out to see if someone at the valet stand was helping when he saw that I was there waiting!! The valet had already left to get my vehicle. Food was also outstanding. A little disappointed that they didn't have a military discount, but that is quibbling. Will be back for sure!!

Delicious authentic Italian food. Great service to go along with the delicious food. Looking forward to our next visit.
