This was my first time back to Outback in several years. My wife has many food allergies, so it limits where we can go eat. This experience was exceptional from the moment we walked in until we left.
When we asked to see the gluten-free menu it had a lot of options. The hostess made sure our waitress knew we had food allergy concerns. The waitress worked with the cooks to ensure everything was handled safely.
The food was phenomenal. I think we have found a new place for dates!
Thank you for all the effort you put in Outback!

Outback Steakhouse First time review
Ambiance: like a Chili’s but for steak. Very good menu layout and pictures 8/10
Drinks: Boomarita. 4 seperate margaritas. Everything but the classic was extremely sweet and sugary 4/10
Appetizers: Blooming onion, it had a Cajun spice like Popeyes to it. Easy to pull the onion pieces out. Pretty good. Salads - standard. 7/10
Mains: Ahi Tuna - nice pepper crust, odd gelatinous texture, but overall good. Sirloin was cooked medium and was tasty and mashed potatoes were standard. 6.5/10
Desert: Cheesecake. Felt like it was shipped from some factory but it was darn good. 8/10
Overall price: $66.25
Overall rating: 6.7/10 fun for the occasional steak
From the time we walked in everything went perfect. I had a pretty rough evening and was a little agitated at no one fault truthfully. The folks at the door greeted me and my daughter with a smile. They sat us in a small booth where she could plug her phone in to charge. Bonus points ... Our server was Hunter. Awesome guy. Truly on point with his customer service skills. We ordered Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer. Me and my daughter then shared a perfect grilled Delmonico Ribeye with Mac and Cheese for the Main Entrée. It was an absolute perfect dinner from start to finish. I have never been more satisfied with an Outback Steakhouse as I was tonight. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone. And the next time I am in San Antonio, I will definitely come back again.

We had our yearly SAPD Christmas dinner on Thursday 12-4-25. Mgr Gabriel and waitress Annabell did an excellent job taking care of us. Food and service was excellent. All 34 of us were completely satisfied. We're looking forward to next years gather.

I ordered Togo for Veterans Day. Food was ready in 20 mins. Everything was delicious. Waiter I could tell was busy, still had a great spirit and personality. Service was 10/10.

My partner and I ate lunch at Outback Steakhouse today, Nov 10, and I’m really disappointed in the way they handled their wait times and communication. We arrived at 12:30 and got put on a wait list. I asked what the estimated wait time would be and was told by the male host (manager?), Gabriel, he couldn’t give a wait time at all. I’ve never had any place that couldn’t even give a rough estimate, but as almost half the restaurant was empty tables we assumed the wait would not be too long. At 1:04, after noticing that the place was more noticeably full than when we arrived and still not having been called, I went up to the desk to check on status. I heard the host/manager— without prompting— tell the couple right before us that it would be a 30-45 minute wait. So I asked if he could give me an updated wait time as we had been waiting for 30 minutes. He looked up my name and said THERE STILL WASN’T AN ESTIMATED WAIT TIME FOR ME. I saw the face of the female hostess next to him look uncomfortable, I’m thinking because his demeanor was b.s. I was really caught by surprise by his response and kind of dumbly repeated back, “Still no estimated time?” He bluntly said, “No.”
If the case had been a matter of short staff and needing to wait for diners to finish their meals before seating others, they should have given us a heads-up at the beginning that the wait would be long so we could plan what to do. However, a good number of those empty tables did get filled and some with people who had not been waiting before us. We hadn’t noticed so many being seated because we were a bit to the side, scrolling through our phones patiently as we waited. There was no one else waiting from the groups of people we had walked in right after or before and there were only three other small parties waiting that were recent arrivals.
It seems safe to assume the host skipped our names on the list and started seating others first. This was further obvious as we got a notification a minute later at 1:05 that a table was ready right as we were making the decision to leave. So although we were the very next in line to be seated, there was no possible wait time that could be given, huh? I would have shrugged off a mistake and chalked it up to accidents happen if there had been any sort of acknowlegement, but the blatant lying and lack of apology was rude and weird. Especially doubling down on telling a diner that’s been waiting half an hour that you can’t give her a potential time to be seated after she literally hears you relaying timeframes to others and also when there’s no other party that would have priority. It made me start to wonder if a mistake was made or purposeful bypassing. The hostess did apologize for the wait when she seated us, but I would really like to know what the deal with the host was.
The food came out surprisingly quickly and the hostess, waitress, and busser were pleasant and efficient during a busy time. It did take about twenty minutes to get our cheesecake slice to go. After getting home, my partner’s stomach started to feel a little upset but we’re not sure if it’s something to do with how the food was prepared or if it is just sitting heavy in his stomach— the burger and baked potato together was a pretty big portion. Unfortunately we won’t try out this location again due to the negative first and second impressions made by Gabriel.
It was Veterans free meal day. They did not plan well as staffing was not adequate. Kitchen was slow. Wait staff way over burdened, etc
