Amazing hidden gem! Delicious food, great service! I've been to eat here twice and tried several different dishes, all of which were repeats. This place ranks up there with the best Italian in the city!

I walked in to pick up my carry out. I was promptly greeted with a friendly hello. I got the pappardelle bolognese, my husband got the fettuccine Della casa both small, and split the arancini. Everything was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce had great flavor. My husband thought the flavors married well and liked the crispiness of the pancetta. We both liked the Arancini. It was crispy the outside and a good cheesy texture on the inside. My only little complaint is that the size of the small was a little too small, but we are both big eaters. I highly recommend this restaurant

Sean Carter Archer and his wife, Virginia are cranking out some of the best Italian food at we have had in San Antonio at Pazzo Pastaria. Blink and you will miss this place, located just south of the big HEB on Nacogdoches. We saw them on the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook page and decided to give them a try. They are also a San Antonio Restaurants Gold Club restaurant and offer perks to their members.Sean is definitely refined local chef, with experience at Chez Ardid and other locales. His food reminds me of the North End in Boston. His wife runs the front of the house and makes a point to check in with all her guests. It's not a big place so reservations are suggested. The bread is served with an olive oil/balsamic her dipping sauce. So many places order their pasta, but Chef Sean is creating fresh pasta each day. You can tell by the perfect al dente bite. If your idea of pasta is Kraft shells and cheese this will be a different experience. I also like that the salads and many entrees come in a small and large size. But even the small Caesar salads are larger than most other restaurant's side salad. The dressing has a good garlic bite. So many great choices on the menu. My wife ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara. The sauce was excellent. I ordered the Bucatini Florentine with chicken, mushrooms, and fresh spinach. The white wine butter garlic sauce was flavorful without being too much. We used the San Antonio Restaurants Gold Club app to get a free panna cotta with blueberry sauce. It was very creamy and a nice finish to dinner.Thank you for being upfront about credit card fees on the menu. They offer a 3% discount when you purchase with cash.

Absolutely a hidden gem of a restaurant. Located at the end of a small strip center, this seemingly secret Italian venue was a joyous surprise. From the time we walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. In general, the dining room was small-ish, but the number of tables satisfied the room and the decor felt like home. We even had the owners stop by to welcome us and ask if we needed anything at all. From the beginning, our server made himself available and took our order of drinks. As we were waiting for others in our party, we ordered the calamari appetizer. Having had my share of fried squid over the years, this offering was absolutely tender and delicious... and a large serving as well - the best I've had in years. The menu is a good size, neither too big nor small. Based on some positive reviews, I ordered the Chicken Picatta. I was honestly blown away. The lemon-butter covered chicken was perfectly tender, and it was accompanied by some of the best in-house made pasta I've had as well. There was a healthy portion of veggies that filled the plate and the friendly portion of artichokes satisfied my pallet. I would definitely order it again.Upon closing the meal with friends, we ordered a couple orders of the panna cota, which was a refreshing mouthful of flavor.Based on the meal we had that also included a couple glasses of wine, it was VERY well priced. Considering the masterful meal from the kitchen and the very welcoming service we had, this made our experience no less than 5 stars. I can't wait to come back!

My mom and I have been a personal journey to find the best Italian spot in San Antonio that is both delicious and authentic, and this is IT. Everything is made from scratch, from the pasta to the drinks, and takes a little bit of time but is so worth the wait. The menu is fairly simple, no more than a page, but is guaranteed to have something for everyone. We ordered the garlic bread and spinach artichoke dip and loved it. Everything tasted very fresh. For entrees, we ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmesan. Basic, I know, but not always a bad thing! The food was so good, we not only took our leftovers, but ordered more food for us to try! They have an amazing lasagna and lemoncello tiramisu, a must try in my opinion. It may seem like a small and cozy family restaurant, but the service and food make it feel like fine dining. Cannot wait to come back again!

We headed to @pazzopastaria for dinner tonight. Busy night and full house! It's part of the San Antonio Gold Diner Program! Complimentary bread and dip was fabulous! I probably ate too much foccacia! I had the Black Ridge Merlot, Dad and hubby had the Blueberry Lemonade. We started with the Autumn Crostini and Roman Wedgie. Huge portions of food! Dad and hubby shared the Lasagna. I had the Gamelli al Pesto. We brought lots of food home. With the Gold Program, we had free dessert for getting 2 entrées. We had the Orange Cake. Will have to go back to try the Limoncello Tiramisu! How to get your perks: Download San Antonio Restaurant app from Google Play or Apple Store Subscribe for $8.88 each month Add Referral: Ruthie Wu when you subscribe

Really enjoyed this local spot. The ambiance to me is casual, yet still romantic. Great for a date night. They aren't too big but in this case it's better for that imitate feel. All the service received was extraordinary from the moment we walked in. Our server was really attentive and answered all our questions. Th food was like a taste of Italy in your mouth! One thing to note is their pasta is al dente which means you may fell a bit firm to you but again, this the Italian way. This is not your big chain OG, there is no comparison. I got the lasagna Bolognese and my husband got the spaghetti and meatballs. The food was delicious! My two year old is a bit picky and that day was all about the food. The lasagna did not taste like it had too much tomato. It was just right! The size on my picture is a small and it was enough for me. My husband ordered the large size spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were so tender and not heavy. I couldn't believe it. Oh they also bring your table some bread and olive oil, it was freshly baked so yummy! They also made some wine suggestions on what would pair best with our food. Great choice! For dessert we had Italian churros and they were so soft. They just melt in your mouth. At the end we had a little accident and the staff was so nice and helped clean up our mess. What can you say when you dine with kids. This place is hidden but I've been recommending it to friends. If you want some authentic Italian food you must stop here and support local! Buon Appetito!

The SA express News was right. This place deserves 5 stars. Starting with our server, Austin, who was knowledgeable and friendly and offered very good recommendations. We started with the romaine wedge salad that was refreshing with an interesting mix of ingredients. The chicken piccata was cooked to perfection and so flavorful, as were the veggies and pasta that accompanied it. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs that were not only delicious, but ample in portion size. We will definitely be going back with friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Food was excellent! The calamari came with breaded and fried artichoke hearts and olives . We tried the pesto cream pasta and pasta is so fresh! Italian soda combos, espresso drinks Shrimp Vesuvius was served atop polenta a bit spicy but delicious Try the polenta churrosBread basket with oil and balsamic was served beforehand Service was excellent, bathroom was a beautiful remodel. Owner did all decor and remodel herself.

Best Italian I have had in the city. So absolutely delicious I wanted to cry. My wife and I had to stop for moments of pure bliss as we enjoyed our meals. I have tried other recommendations in the city, yes even the infamous one, and I cannot express how much I appreciated coming to Pazzo Pastaria and enjoying some of the best tasting pasta dishes I've had in a long while.Compliments to the staff, you all make this place what it is, and it shows. The wife and I are hitting this place up again as soon as we can.(Forgot to take pictures, not enough time between the moments of each bite)
