I took my kids there for Easter lunch. The food and the service were both very good and the ambiance was nice as always.
Piatti is one of my favorite “ go to restaurants “ in San Antonio. Menu is interesting, food preparation is great, service is always polite and efficient. Bar menu is also great. It is a great place to go to with friends on Sunday afternoon or after the work during the week.
We are already regulars at San Antonio's Piatti restaurants but our meal last night gave us more reasons to love this reliable, well managed spot for high quality Italian fare. We always have reservations but surprisingly they were needed at 7PM on a Friday evening.. odd .. but I guess it was a little quieter which is always a good thing. There were plenty of people, just not jam packed. One of the highlights of our visit was Karin, our server. Truly professional, sociable, kind.. just great on every level. She made a recommendation to my wife for the zucchini spiral “pasta” dish with suga rosa. Who gets excited about zucchini? But Karin was such a real person and she authentically loved the dish and told us what it was like so my wife took the plunge. Throughout our meal, Karin was present just the right amount and engaged in just the right amount of conversation. Everything that she had control over was perfect. My wife started with the wedding soup which is always fantastic. I chose to skip a starter and have the Kiara salad with grilled chicken for my entree. When the brought the zucchini dish, it looked amazing. And it was. So much flavor in the sauce and other ingredients (the sweet soft tomatoes in it were so good). My salad was perfectly prepared.. just cold enough and the chicken warm and very flavorful. I tasted the zucchini dish and you really can't tell it's zucchini instead of pasta by taste.. only texture.. which was al dente. I ended up stealing a little more it was so good. I know what I'm ordering next time! We don't usually have dessert but I opted for some gelato and she had the tiramisu. They were good, but nothing to really rave about.. mild vanilla flavor gelato (it could benefit from some kind of contrast flavor toppings)... and the tiramisu was good but flavors were muted. Still, a really good meal and top notch service and a great atmosphere. They're doing it right at Piatti.
great price for location! loved dressing up and getting great food. 6:15 was early enough for it to still be quiet but amazing service as expected!
We had a party of 8 to celebrate an 84th birthday, and they printed “Happy Birthday” at the top of our menus. A very sweet touch. Our server was also phenomenal. She was just the right amount of attentive and super sweet.
I always like this restaurant, but it's not outstanding. More interesting and flavorful dishes would make it a stand out. I had the trout, which could have done with a lot less bland sauce. The flatiron steak was fine, nothing special, but the potatoes were very tasty. My husband had the chicken puttanesca, which was the best of the three. The doughnuts were delicious but not hot. We will be back, but more imagination in the kitchen would be welcome.
It used to be a reasonably good restaurant and now the quality is very bad. It's sad to see restaurants fall so badly. All dishes where tasteless. Nothing to do with authentic Italian cuisine.
Carin was an exceptional server. She handled inside and outside tables flawlessly and her suggestions were spot on. Food was delicious as always.
We went for a dinner date and had Gabriella who was amazing! She gave us strong recommendations and was friendly and attentive. Great food! Definitely get the Short Rib - the salsa verde on it with the polenta is out of this world.
We were really disappointed. Another restaurant recommended this place, so we felt confident going and eating a yummy dinner. It turned out not so good. The lasagne had a lot of great reviews, but it has no flavor. Two bites, and that was it. The short rob with pappardelle pasta was an exciting order, but a few bites later, the flavor just wasn't there. Another ordered the bolognese, and it lacked flavor, too. I'm not sure what went wrong, but the chef needs to step up his flavors. We won't likely go back.

Went here for the first time w/ a friend after reading good reviews. Jacob K. was our server, and he was extremely attentive and was great with suggestions. I had the ricotta ravioli (with the lemon cream sauce, as recommended by Jacob K.!!) and it was phenomenal. Will definitely be back.

The seafood is delicious and the pastas are the best, but I can’t forget about their most talented bartender, Sean! He made over 50 plus perfect espresso martinis under one night for everyone! Ladies give him a kiss for me, because he’s a superstar but he doesn’t even know it yet! The rest of the staff are just as outstanding, I love how clean everything is!

Not good enough to go back.
Ordered:
The bruschetta ( the tomatoe one was really good flavor but too salty, the mushroomone one was ok, but not too fl
avored).
The bolegnese pasta- was ok, but not worth the price at all. Flavor was bland.
The egplant parmesan- Dry breaded eggplant patties with little sauce.
Chicken mattone- Was good.
The alfredo chicken- ok flavor, but not really great.
Had s couple of wine glasses from the happy hour.
Service was ok, calm environment.
Good for talking and hearing each other.
But food was not something that we would eat again.
