Texas BBQ done well with a a couple of Cajun inspired bites. Came in with high expectations and Pinkerton's while good, comes in a tier below the greats like Franklin's, Truth, Pecan Lodge ect. Start with the great: Pork ribs were awesome, nice crusty bits, peppery and a tasty glaze. Potato Salad spoke to my heart. I LOVE a mustard forward peppery, eggy salad and this HIT. GOOD: Brisket got the job done. Not the best you'll ever have, but certainly tasty. (I for one, Judge a brisket by how eager I am to eat it without the sauce and pickles, used a little bit of both). Jambalaya was tasty and a nice addition to the usual bbq fair. Turkey was solid, but I'd definitely try something else before ordering again. The Mac and cheese as well as boudin sausage were both good, but I'd skip both. The staff was friendly and there is a large dining room and outdoor dining space. Country music fills the air and Pinkerton's is a solid bbq experience! One additional positive is they don't limit your ordering to full/half pounds of meat. If you want just 2 ribs or .25 lbs of a meat they let me go for it.

The line can get long here so don't wait until you're already hangry! It is lunch-line style, not table service. We arrived when the line wasn't too crazy so we got lucky because we wanted pulled pork and they announced they were getting low and more wouldn't be available for another 2 hours. But we were able to get that and brisket along with some tasty sides. You can't go wrong with anything really. We enjoyed our meal and sat outside to enjoy it.

Wow! Delicious and I mean delicious BBQ. Convenient walk from our hotel. Food is ordered cafeteria style and placed directly on paper-lined tray. We had melt in your mouth brisket, fall off the bone ribs and mouthwatering pulled pork. Sides were mac n cheese and jalapeno cheesy rice, coleslaw (not my taste). Two of us split our meal. Tab came to about $60, plus tip. Worth every penny!

We had the jalapeño cheese rice, potato salad, Mac and cheese, brisket, and regular sausage. Everything was amazing. Brisket was super juicy. Definitely recommend trying.

If you happen to be craving BBQ and looking for a place to visit?! Come here!!! It's a whole vibe!!! Located downtown San Antonio! It is pricey but I believe it's worth what we pay. The bbq itself is cooked perfectly. Nice, juicy and tender!! The beans and pork were a bit too salty for me but that's the only complaint I have. Their house made bbq sauce wasn't my favorite but don't let that stop you from trying it. I do have to say, the potato salad deserves an award! It was so good!!!! The guys working were very friendly and like to make people laugh, so that made the visit all the better !

Went to Pinkerton and out of brisket, long line, humid with no fans. Downtown is weak with having restaurants. Stumbled across Smoke Skybar BBQ off Crockett . I highly recommend. Food was great, entertainment, great drinks. And they have parking. ?? That was after we paid $25 for parking and we left. The city has the tourist fooled. We're texas and you run of BBQ???

Absolutely the best brisket I have eaten! So moist and tender and those brunt ends are so so delicious. The sides were very filling and the smoke bread pudding is an absolute must.

OMG Best place to eat! We ate here 2 times and we wished we had more. Plenty of seating in and outside. Walkable to hotels on Houston. Street level but just across street to riverwalk. Long line but well worth it. A little different when you go through line to order. First person makes your cold items. Coleslaw is so good ! Get a LG! Potato salad is really good ! Get a LG. Then next server is for hot items. We tried beans, jambalaya, jalapeños rice, was just ok. Beans needed to be sweet or maybe Jalapeno...something. Mac n cheese we did not try. Meat we had turkey, jalapeños cheese sausage, Brisket, pork, and ribs. You order by the lb or tell them how many of each. This is family style. Ribs were pork that were glazed with a sweet bbq sauce. So very tender! They were delicious! That's why we went back 2nd day. All Meat is good but I think ribs are the star! We looked on line and only other one sadly is in Houston.
