Beautiful restaurant inside and out.
The food was awesome and service was great. First time there and next time in San Antonio I will definitely be back.
This is a lovely restaurant. Love the atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming and helpful in ordering. The food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

The food is absolutely delicious! The bread is the best bread I've ever eaten anywhere! Do you happen to sell your bread separate because I just love eating that bread. I'm from New Jersey and I know a good bread it tastes like.
Nice dinner visit with the family. Sat against the wall at a large table, so half the party was staring at the wall. Very clean and well-organized dining area, and while we were there, it was easy to share and talk amongst ourselves. Wait staff was on time and accurate with drinks, appetizers, and orders. The food was plentiful and appropriately seasoned. The group ordered a variety of meals, but lasagna was probably the most ordered dish. Everyone reported the food was good, and carryout containers were needed for the leftovers. The visit was good overall, and I would recommend it for anyone desiring a taste of Italy.

The food was excellent. This was my 2nd visit to this restaurant. On my 1st visit, I had the Chicken Mustard. While this doesn't seem right, it was really good. This last visit i tried the Chicken Cannelloni. For me, it was even better. The only reason I gave 4 Stars is the light above our table was randomly stroking. The server was prompt, attentive, and very helpful. The price is in line with most Italian restaurants.

My first time going and was not pleased. The food tasted like it was sitting out for a good while and the server was not attentive. There was barely anyone in the restaurant for our server to be busy with anything besides one table. Then my boyfriend received his food and drink last and was disappointed with not being asked if he wanted Parmesan when everyone else got asked if they’d like some. It was super hot inside and personally Olive Gardens a lot better than this place. Eventually I’ll try it again and get a different dish, but as of now..it’s a disappointing Italian grill.

I walked in expecting much of the same. Employees doing a good job but bottom line it’s just a job and you can tell. I sat at the bar all by myself doing it to go order. I didn’t have any high expectations for anything. But. right off the bat the host Sebastian, who ended up being my waiter was beyond spectacular. Although he was busy seating other customers, He made a point whenever he had a minute to come over and check on me and make sure that I had everything that I needed, etc. I had questions about certain items and he answered them precisely and quickly like he had been there working there for 50 years. He wasn’t up on top of me like most are. It was just enough to make this visit perfect. I felt it necessary to leave a review and give a little shout out to this young man. He does a great job. He has a great future in life and if the restaurant was smart, they would do whatever they could to keep him and promote him to a leadership position. Pompeii should utilize his natural talent to train other employees. Bottom line Sebastian thank you very much. I appreciate your service today Patrick Johnston.

I'm a huge fan of this restaurant. However, my experience on mothers day was very disappointing. The waiter was pleasant but made too many mistakes. My son and I ordered different sangrias each and when they were brought to us, the server didn't know which was which because they looked similar. No biggie. Then after he was taking our plates away, he dropped a little bowl of marinara sauce which splattered everywhere, including on my yellow dress and hair. My mood was damaged. Finally, I ordered chicken parm and end up getting eggplant parm. So I had to wait for the correct dish to be made while my sons ate. I felt bad because my sons had taken me there knowing it was one of my favorite restaurants and we ended up leaving disappointed.

Large Italian restaurant with good food and usually minimal wait time
My family was there for a birthday celebration. The veal in my piccata dish was paper thin and therefore well overcooked and the pasta was dry and tasteless. My wife’s carbonara, which she craves, was more like Alfredo than real carbonara, she didn’t even want to eat the leftovers. The sausage in my son’s sausage and peppers was also over cooked. The cocktails were watery, too much ice not nearly enough cocktail. I could go on but if this is one of the best Italian restaurants in San Antonio we’re in trouble. The Italian Wedding soup had only spinach as a vegetable and no pasta.

I have been going to this restaurant for years, and I love the food and I the look of tue restaurant. Unfortunately it was all ruined by 1 person on mother’s day. The server we had was rushing the entire time, dropping plates pf food so fast the food was falling off the plate when we would ask for things he would walk away before we finished. The worst part was he was rushing to leave he started grabbing our plates and putting them in to go containers without asking. And he ended up grabbing mine and just threw my food away and I had so much food left (he did give me a small to go pasta plate) but its just the server was rushing us. Worst part was he ended up saying because we were a big group and paying separately we all had to pay 20% tip and we never heard of that the 6 years of going there when we asked the manager she told us that was not a thing at all. Easy to say me and my family will never go there again.
