My friend’s joke that they wish they had a ‘Cheer’s’ like neighborhood bar in their neighborhood. “I write this review because of the service that Brandon gave to me and my wife while we were visiting the San Antonio Riverwalk. We are 78 years old, and were struggling in the heat, Brandon noticed us and offer us a table to relax and have a cool drink. We caught our breathe and moved on after this wonderful act of kindness. Later the evening we went back with the intent of having our dinner. Brandon came out and down the stairs to the walkway remembering us from earlier. I told him that we wanted to have dinner but because my wife is using a walker we could not make it up to eat inside. Brandon said not to worry that he would take us up a a lift that was off in the corner of the building. He, then set our table, with a view of the walk below. What we ordered was delicious. While we ate we observed the other things that Brandon was doing to please the customers. He fixed a wobbling table instantly as the customers continued to have their meal, then spruced up pictures making sure they were well polished. Helped us get back down to ground level. The point is that this lad is a people person, craves helping people, and makes people want to come back to Mad Dog, which has excellent food at reasonable prices and is definitely an enjoyable place to spend time because they do the extra personal step of caring.“

“This bar has a classic, older feel and is located off 37 South near Elmendorf. The staff are generally nice, and the atmosphere can be lively, but the place could use some stronger management to keep things more professional and comfortable for everyone.
It has potential, but some regulars and friends of the employees can make the environment feel less professional at times. I’ve overheard a lot of gossip about people and businesses in the area Valero,Planet Amusement ,Planet 420 &More— and while I understand you can’t control everyone’s conversations, it does affect the bar’s image. Also these businesses have their own bad look and I'm sure the bar would not want to be associated with besides all that drama. Karaoke nights are fun!

“Great People and Strong Competition Banana Billiards is a great spot for anyone who loves pool- friendly atmosphere and lots of strong competition. They have several Diamond tables that are nicely taken care of and a joy to play on. Rick, the owner, is super welcoming. He took the time to help me find other local tournaments while I was in San Antonio and Roger ran an awesome 9-ball tournament there on Friday night where the competition is STRONG- a good mix of high-level players, including some semi-pros. Friendly, relaxed, competitive vibe- It’s easy to see why pros drop by every now and then- is definitely worth a visit if your looking for a game or two while your in town.“

“I highly recommend Destiny's. ICE COLD BEER AT GREAT PRICES! It is truly a neighborhood bar with clientele that are not only friends but more like family. Great place to watch games, lots of TVs. Owners & Customers give back to the community ten fold. Halloween was unbelievable 500 hotdogs, chips & candy for all the neighborhood kids.“

“My local favorite for a Friday after-work cool down. The bartenders are cute and friendly, and remember your name and drinks, which is a MUST for me. I feel like they could leave a couple of lights on because the TV screens around the bar hurt my eyes after a while. But otherwise it's definitely my favorite place to hang out after a long work day.“

“I was a first time guest on Sunday night, at Arjons. Upon entry, I was greeted with a smile. There was a $10 cover charge, and I paid $7.00 for my drink. The ambiance was sexy and fun! There was plenty of seating available, but everyone was dancing(no one was holding up the wall). There were several couples, but it’s also a great place for singles(like myself).The live band was amazing, and they were also great to look at! Lastly, security was present, on-guard, and personable. I can’t wait to try the food truck in front of the establishment next time. ❤️“

Bartender Bday, so orders were slow and unsteady but vibe wasnt bad and bartender was SUPER HOT- good place for single men . “To be honest, came to the Three-Legged Monkey because I loved the name then pulled up saw their logo, loved it even more. But honestly that evening they had a open mic night (I guess is what you'd call it) and the guy they had playing was AMAZING. He had his own twists on female artist songs and we even put in a request. Unfortunately he didn't have our first choice Blue October, but he did kill it with The Cure. Our bartender was super attentive, it was League night for darts so they were a little busy but not slammed to the point to where we waited a long time for our drinks. They only have one pool table which wasn't a huge deal; It was a good table. We left fairly early because we didn't want to get caught if anymore ugly thunderstorms were due to start again like there was the night before. The only bad thing is not necessarily per se their location bad even though we're following GPS. We did kind of miss the entrance twice other than that, when we're in the area again we will definitely be back as we had such a good time and hopefully that guy will be there again and have at least ONE Blue October song under his belt 🤷🏽‍♀️“

“This was my first time trying Roo Pub. I really liked the atmosphere with upbeat/ chill music, dimmed lighting, big screen TVs with all kinds of sporting events surrounding the walls of the pub, and various style of seating (bar stools, high tables, couches). The waitresses were kind and attentive. For the food we ordered the following: gator bites for an appetizer, side spicy Caesar salad, and chicken wings (mango habanero and sweet chili). The food was tasty and filling, definitely had enough for leftovers. Also, I enjoyed my flavorful strong Bloody Mary. I see myself coming back to try more drinks and food soon!“
