Well so much for trying this place. Showed up and they have a lock out notice on the door.

This is hands down the best Persian restaurant in San Antonio. I’ve eaten probably 2/3 of the menu and everything was of high quality. I personally recommend the Vaziri, but the Ghormeh Sabzi is also consistently delicious. The rice alone is worth a visit in my opinion.

This place is on another level!!! I've tried Chef's Table. I've tried Kabob Land. I've tried, Iraqi Grill (no longer in business), I've tried Basil, and I can go on and on but Saffron Persian Cuisine sits at the top (some people lump Med and Middle Eastern together, that's why I did here). Having been stationed in Germany for 8 years, I am very partial to Middle Eastern food which is why I have tried so many throughout the city and as I said in my opening statement, this place is on another level! Today was my first time there, so I got the Family Platter and Kasheke Bademjan so the family and I could try a bit of everything. From the first bite, there was an explosion of flavor in my mouth that caused me to actually say out loud, "wow". I'm sure you've all gotten some kabob meat before and it was dry because it was dry and over cooked, well my friends you need not worry about that here. The meat was so tender, flavorful, and juicy I overate. I sure did and I have no regrets! lol. Family loved it as well! What else is there to say? Well, actually there is one thing else to say and it's the only negative I have, BUT it doesn't take away from the awesome food we had. They are working off of a condensed menu (attached) and the gentleman that helped me told me it was because of Covid. That said, I am not the business owner that has a look at their finances so even though the menu I saw online had menu items I wanted to try, I am understanding because Covid hit everyone hard and as I am sure you know many of our favorite places did not survive. Nonetheless the food we did get to try was Top Drawer! We most certainly will be back and I hope you will support this place, because it would be a shame if we lost this gem. Peace and Love

Yesterday i went to have lunch in this place. The ghormesabzi was ok not the best but ok the meat was very chewy and under cooked. But the worst was the service, the owner was sitting the whole time and watching something loudly on his phone and never came to the table to see if everything was ok or not not only him but the server that is his son never did the same. I couldn't finish the food because of the under cooked meat. Went to the register to pay and leave but because of what he was watching on his phone he never noticed that someone is standing there for almost 4 minutes waiting for him so I called him for it, he raised his head and got up and asked what i had, told him the ghormesabzi and water he charged me plus service charge for debit transactions fees. I did not tell him anything because he dose not deserve to know where his mistakes is on running the restaurant. The place was empty and i was the only customer in his place witch it tells me why. I don't think he will keep the place open for long. This place is not a welcoming place to visit and spend money.

The absolute best place to get Persian cuisine in San Antonio! This family-owned restaurant may seem antique, but flairs a common Iranian restaurant style that is reminiscent of back home. Their kabobs are to die for- more on the juicy side and rarely come dry! One platter had portions big enough to feed two people and is worth the money. Love this place.

A world traveler with a definite sophisticated palate by far the most exquisite Persian or middle eastern gastronomy I’ve had ! In town I have been coming on and off for about 4 years for business and never had such a magnificent experience! My compliments to the chef for his ever desire of making every dish according to its fine recipe !Will definitely come back for more ……!

I had a late lunch today..portions are generous and food was tasty..did not know I would be paying a credit card fee and an automatic tip. Both charges were added to the bill. That’s not proper ..tipping is optional and at the discretion of the customer..there are no signs telling you to expect a credit card usage fee nor that staff will tip themselves. It’s unfortunate that they help themselves without informing customers. I felt uncomfortable with these business practices. Hopefully this will be a warning to future customers.

Nice portion size, decent flavor in the majority of the dishes. The chicken kebabs were very tender. The kubideh is normally my favorite, but this one had a somewhat bitter taste, and wasn't as juicy as others. The lamb was very juicy and tender.. They also have a somewhat reduced menu due to Covid. Service was good, ambiance was good as well.

Very good first experience here. The Greek salad was delicious and so was the chicken plate. They give you large portions as well. I will be coming back.
