We were so excited to eat here after seeing it rated as best BBQ in San Antonio, recommended by Texas Eats on KSAT 12, and Diners Drive-Ins and Dives… we came on a Saturday night at 7:15pm. They only had the lean brisket remaining, no green beans, no cream corn, and our food was barely warm and did not taste fresh, as if it had been sitting for a long time. The Mac and cheese tasted like it had been microwaved because it had pockets of heat but overall barely warm. The brisket grilled cheese had one single slice of American cheese barely melted, the brisket part was good. The seasoned fries tasted old and not fresh. If you’re out of your best items at 7:15pm and you’re open until 9pm, that’s not a good sign. Are you cutting corners to save money or bad management? Furniture very run down and the floors not maintained clean. Lots of potential because the flavors are there. Just very disappointed.

We had Smoke Shack cater my Niece's Wedding. Ashley and her team did a fabulous job. They were efficient, friendly, and very professional. The food and the portions were out of this world delicious!! We had people from all over the USA and everyone said it was the best brisket and sausage they have ever eaten (and we had over 200 people). If you ever are in need a catering services, do not hesitate to try them out.

Disappointed with Smoke Shack!
We ordered 10lbs of pulled pork from Smoke Shack for a baby shower, only to receive just 2lbs. This was a huge letdown, leaving us scrambling to fix the situation. We ended up with an extra hour of delay because of their mistake—time that could have been spent enjoying the celebration instead of fixing their error.
On top of that, it was frustrating to see the lack of attention to detail in packing orders. It felt more like the service you’d expect at McDonald's, not a BBQ spot where quality and care should be the standard.
For the amount we paid, we expected better service and reliability. The team at Smoke Shack needs to pay more attention to ensure customers get exactly what they order. Wouldn’t recommend for events where timing and accuracy matter!

A nice Texas BBQ restaurant in the area. Food was ok. The brisket was a bit dry. The sides weren’t too good. Got some self served toppings. Bathroom available. A small wait on the line. Parking available outside.
Arrived at 6 pm on Friday night. They were out of several side dishes, including potato salad, slaw, and beans. Not sure how a BBQ place can be out of these sides by 6 pm on Friday. We had brisket, pulled pork and sausage. All meats were dry and not flavorful. We haven't been to this place in a couple of years. Previously it was much better and they had a great brisket. Not sure what'shappened. Disappointing.

Food was wonderful and service was quick. It was cold in the restaurant but they have an outdoor patio that was nice with the weather. Traffic was noisy since it is next to the road. But I was more focused on eating.

This place has potential. When get there you will find that parking is limited and tight. Currently construction going on with the roads. I got the 3 meats BBQ plate. The sausage was undercooked and the brisket had an awkward flavor. I couldn’t finish it. The okra was stalky and dry; not freshly cooked. The tea and lemonade was under flavored. I’m glad Guy Fieri enjoyed his visit, but it should be that way all the time for anyone else because one experience could cost a customer regardless how much money this business makes. In my opinion $30.00 good price but the food didn’t have to match the price.

Came here for a late lunch at 2 and it was busy. 20 minute wait to be seated. Food was fantastic and worth every second of the wait! Brisket was excellent, the ribs were excellent and the creamed corn also a must have. Oh, their Mac and cheese is their signature dish!!
