The food was excellent! The staff was super friendly!

The service was amazing, friendly, accurate and responding all the doubts on the menu, also service was fast, and the flavor was amazing. Great taste on the quesadillas chicharron prensado, and the aguas frescas are natural, tried strawberry 100% recommended and guava. Waitress was friendly and bilingual.
Update: check your receipt before paying the use to charge for certain items or substitutions.

I usually order menudo w/barbacoa taco since weather has been cooler and flavor is always on point. I would like a bit more of the hominy/maiz and the BEST part is the corn tortilla! It's homemade, soft and a little think but not too thick. Didn't crack or break when folded or rolled.

Best menudo in San Antonio. & with the menudo and bbq special of $10.99 you can’t pass it up.
They also have champurrado and cafe de olla.

The fact that if you use the bathroom, but don’t end up buying anything to eat, they charge you $2?! Talk about a shady business… I definitely won’t be coming back, especially after reading the several other negative comments about the inconsistency in pricing and fees. Do better.

San Antonio is full of places that would be the best Tex-Mex in a non San Antonio location. This is one of those locations. The food is very good, but not great given the context of San Antonio. I loved that the server (nor anyone else who worked there) barely spoke English. She was especially sweet and provided swift service- which was no easy accomplishment given that we arrived while they were slammed.

The food came surprisingly quick and was served at just the right temperature. The salsa was more runny than I expected and had a surprisingly smokey flavor.

The think I think that what sets this place apart is that they served fruit smoothies, and had a large selection of hard liquor, more than I expected. We didnt try alcohol or fruity drinks, but If that's your thing, this may be that magic local place for you.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but I feel like this experience was frustrating enough to share.

The food was decent, but the service and billing left a lot to be desired. We ordered a chocomilk, and when the bill came, we were charged for a milkshake instead. When we pointed it out, the staff insisted that what we got was more like a milkshake anyway—completely ignoring what we had actually ordered. It felt like they expected us to know how they interpret a chocomilk vs a milkshake, even though their own server didn’t seem sure about the difference either.

On top of that, the prices on the menu don’t match what they charge at the register. A taco listed as $3.49 on the menu was suddenly $5 when we were paying. When we questioned it, they just said that the specific taco we got wasn’t the one on the menu—even though it had the same name. It felt like they were just making things up to justify extra charges.

Also, they charged us 50 cents for cheese on a taco, but $2 for cheese on a torta—with no explanation or mention of that anywhere on the menu. It just feels dishonest and misleading. If they’re going to charge extra for things, they should be transparent about it.

I would really appreciate it if a manager could review this and take responsibility, as none of the staff working at the time could give us a clear explanation. Honestly, I believe we deserve a refund for the items we were overcharged. It’s disappointing to be treated this way as a customer. If you can please contact me.

Best fruit drinks.. I asked for a cucumber frescas and they made it. They have ALL kinds.. Bean and cheese tacos are wonderful. And the restaurant has been my favorite for home-cooked authentic for 15 years. Highly recommend 👌

Ever since I moved to San Antonio, when I go to a restaurant and see mole enchiladas, I get it. It's rare, and so far, this place has the best.
