The Old English Tea Shoppe & Cafe is a cozy spot that feels like stepping into England, with old world charm and friendly staff. The food is consistently delicious, from classic Fish and Chips to Beef Wellington and short ribs. Many guests return for Afternoon Tea and Father’s Day lunch, enjoying the same great atmosphere and food. The menu offers a Traditional English Breakfast that reminds diners of home, as well as a lamb savory and a Lamb roll with beans that are savory and tangy. Tea lovers find the selection appealing, especially the London Fog and medium Black tea, and the tea service is delightful. Desserts are a highlight, with chef's choice items like cheesecake and baked meringue with cream and berries, called Eaton mess by the server. The bakery provides baked goods for take‑home. Staff are described as friendly, wonderful, and attentive, making each visit feel personal. The restaurant is considered one of the best English restaurants in San Antonio and is often listed among the top three in Texas for English cuisine. Guests leave satisfied, looking forward to returning.
