We went to Umberto's today to celebrate my birthday. What a huge disappointment! We've been going to this place since it opened and the food has always been excellent. I've taken many of my friends there and they all liked it. My chicken parm was paper thin and over cooked. It was hard to cut, even with the steak knife I asked for and hard to chew! I had to send it back and that's always been my favorite dish from there!
The quality of their food has gone down and the prices have gone way up. No surprise there but justified if the food is good. Maybe they have a new cook but we won't be going there again. Don't waste you money there.

This is the best Italian food in the state of Texas. Of course, I haven't tried every one, but I haven't found one that's better. Their sauces are perfect. Their lasagna is king. And their prices are (IMO) too low for the quality and quantity you get. It's one of those hidden gems that people with refined palettes search hard for. Get the beef lasagna and the capellini with marinara. You'll be very happy.

The chicken parmesan what not what I expected. It was an extremely thing piece of chicken, that was discolored, smothered in cheese. The order came with carrots and broccoli which is not traditionally how chicken parm is served at a restaurant. Being from the Northeast I can say I was highly disappointed especially with all the 4+ star reviews. I wont be returning as my hunt for real chicken parm in San Antonio continues

Delivery driver - Picking up food for a delivery service, heavy set woman at the front counter, wasn't very respectful, didn't have courtesy to acknowledge i was there, then handed me order without even looking my direction, and demanded i confirmed the pickup, without even verifying if i did or not.......Waiters seemed polite

Being from CT I am picky about Italian food and am always looking for a good place. If there had been meaning to try this place for some time and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Our server was really good and the food was excellent with really big portions I will definitely be back! I recommend the Fruiti di Mare

Tried this place on a whim because I wanted a cannoli but figured I should get some dinner with my dessert and I am so glad we did! Soup, pappardelle with vodka sauce and both desserts were amazing. Also tried the pizza and the ravioli and they were equally satisfying!

My husband and I picked Umberto’s for date night tonight and amazing is an understatement!! From the delicious fried calamari and rolls to the yummy eggplant parm and Umberto’s pasta,EVERYTHING was absolutely incredible!! The service was fast,friendly and on point!! Our server,Melissa,was so friendly and made sure that we were well taken care of!! All the staff was welcoming,the environment was quaint and laidback and the overall experience was great!! 10/10,We DEFINITELY will be back!!

My fiancée and I had a great experience here! The portions were very generous and all the food we ordered was outstanding. We are looking forward to trying some of the other dishes before we leave SA. A special thanks to our server Randy who just recently started, but was very professional and made us feel so welcome! We will definitely be back to try more.
