One of the best Top Sirloins I've been served. The service was excellent. Highly recommend.

The service was adequate but the food was definitely subpar. The ribs I ordered were not warm, room temperature at best. The croissants were over cooked, slightly burnt and dried out. The monster cookie was inedible. It was so hard I had trouble cutting it so I could only eat some of the edges and left the center because I couldn’t cut through it. Terrible quality. So disappointed since I had such wonderful experiences at other Cheddars in the area. I guess I’ll need to go to those instead and stay away from the one in San Marcos.

We just moved to the area from Boston and were driving around looking for a new dinner spot when we stumbled upon Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. What a good discovery! We were surprised by the quality of the food and the excellent service we received.
​The atmosphere was welcoming, and our server was attentive and friendly, making us feel comfortable.
​For dinner, my husband ordered the Tender Sirloin Steak Tips. They were prepared perfectly medium, with generous portions of sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions, and served with a rich brown gravy over mashed potatoes, topped with a dollop of sour cream. He said it was a satisfying comfort meal—tender, rich, and delicious.
​I had the 6-oz Top Sirloin Steak, which was juicy and cooked just right. I paired it with a huge loaded baked potato, and the star of my meal was definitely the Broccoli Cheese Casserole. It was creamy, and cheesy, and a must-try!
​Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is definitely our new go-to for a satisfying meal. We definitely recommend it.

🍽️ An Absolutely Must-Visit Spot! 🍖
I recently had the pleasure of dining here. This is a restaurant I genuinely recommend to everyone.
The food alone is worth the trip. The Ribs are an absolute must-try—tender, flavorful, and falling off the bone.
Beyond the excellent food, I wanted to specifically mention the accessibility.
My client & her sister where in a wheelchair. The Host & Hostess rite away came to help open both the front doors. They also found us a table with enough room for us to maneuver around. Although our watress forgot our drinks ; I'm still giving this restaurant 5 star service because of the journey in ; And the journey out. My client had a wonderful time and the food was really good. It's wonderful to find a place that is genuinely wheelchair accessible, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming experience for all diners.
From the delicious menu to the thoughtful environment, this restaurant delivers an good experience.

Visiting from Lubbock and stopped in for dinner. I had the steak tips with rice, onions and mushrooms. The dish was very flavorful but only had like 4 pieces of steak tips and a whole lot of onions and some mushrooms. I felt I was paying for an onion dish instead of tips. The manager was coming around checking on tables so I mentioned it to him and showed him my plate. He was nice and corrected it for me by getting me more pieces of steak tips. Thank you for that. The waitress was lovely and very attentive. I ordered the pain killer, it was yummy. Overall, I would visit the Cheddars again if ever back to visit in San Marcos.
Thank you again for correcting my plate and giving me a few more pieces of steak tips they were very tender and yummy.

Horrible staff! If you want to eat this is not the place. The service staff ignored us for 15 minutes and never acknowledged we were sitting and didn't even take our drink order.

The services was not to slow and not too fast. The free appetizer tasted amazing. The food was really good. The mood was calm and relaxed. It is very inspired by Olive Garden, it had a lot of things similar to Olive Garden. The lighting, decorations, how they serve you, they even had the same to go boxes. Over all I loved it but, that might be because I love Olive Garden. It was not very packed on a Monday. We were seated right away and taken care of by the waiter.

The food is consistently good, and as Always Cheddars is packed!! But what made it worth Everything, was our waitress “Cleo”!! We had her the last time we visited and made sure we had her as our waitress this time. She greeted us by name, already knew what we wanted to drink, and hung out with us when she could just to catch up !! We’ll call ahead next time, just to make sure she is working. When you promote her, Please keep her here in San Marcos. We Love Cleo !!!!

Firstly, I observed that the cook wore his apron into the restroom, which raises significant health and hygiene concerns. That is definitely against your food handlers’s permit that I’m sure that you had to test for.

Additionally, the shrimp Alfredo was served with tails still attached and barely had any sauce resulting in dry and overcooked shrimp. Furthermore, the cheeseburger was excessively greasy.

Overall, I found the quality of the food to be disappointing. I will not be bad and I don’t recommend.
