Just picked up order of dumplings. Someone in the kitchen apparently spilled ALL the black pepper and it ALL landed in the batch of dumplings. Had to throw the entire order away, as well as, the hard as a brick biscuit. I'm usually a fan of Gil's.

Super - super - ripped off today! Got the 3 pics mix. A super small wing, leg & thigh - $7.29?? Normally have fried ck once a wk or so different locations, NEVER have I had such small pics!! (Sweet wife picked up for me in drive thru) Normally I do walk in - hum - Suggest you never leave the drive-thru without checking what you get.

I won’t make this a huge deal but I came here today for lunch since I haven’t had fried chicken in a while. The lady who took my order was kinda rude to the guy before me and kinda had a tone with me when she took my order. It didn’t ruin my experience but I hope she’s okay and takes the rest of her day easy taking the orders. As to the food, it was quick and extremely delicious. I will come back when I’m craving fried chicken. I don’t typically eat out anymore as I used to but the fountain drinks have to be the best in town!

My boyfriend and I went today and were greeted by two nice gentleman, while we were there I experienced the two ladies ones with the limp and the other big one treating and talking Extremely rude to their own employee (one of the young gentleman) even talking rudely to me, no smiles no apologies. My boyfriend couldn’t even ask questions at the register without the big lady staring him down. it’s so sad to see something like this, I felt so bad for the young gentleman working there. This type of behavior makes me not to ever want to come back and support a local chicken spot. Not to mention we couldn’t even get honey for out biscuits with the 2 meals we got without paying extra, we ended up going to chicken express for honey and seasoning which was given to us for free.Very disappointed…

I was first introduced to Gill's Fried Chicken in my hometown of big spring, texas. I had no idea that there was more than one of these locations and that the second location would be where I live now, San Marcos texas.

I've always loved the fried chicken at Gill's and while I do think that it might be slightly better in big spring, I still enjoy it along with the french fries and an ice cold coca-cola.

If there was any feedback I could give Gills, I would say to please work on your biscuits and make them more flavorful. Put some butter or some more salt but they need more flavor!

Got trapped in the drive through line for 35minutes, the lady sounded rushed which I understand but I pull up to the window just for her to re ask for my order and hand me half of what I ordered. Tried to get the rest but I could just tell she was over worked, looked like she was alone and the line inside was long too. Used to love the food here but the service has really fallen off they need to hire. When I finally got my incorrect order it was cold and just disappointing. I used to go to gills a lot when I lived nearby but it’s not the same anymore

Had a nice lunch of fried chicken and okra, unfortunately when I went to wash my hands, I found that there was no soap in the men’s room.
No soap, not even an empty dispenser…
I also noted that the required “hand washing sink” in the kitchen area had boxes of supplies stacked in front of it, and clearly hadn’t been used in some time.
All of this combined gives me great concern as to where the cooks are washing their hands?..🤔🤮

Really enjoyed the down home cooking here. Was kind of bummed they were out of certain items we wanted and they don’t allow any substitutions. Otherwise, it was great and I’m sure we’ll be back again.

I used to skip school and go here all the time back in the day. Nice hang out spot. The service was nice and it was nice that they didn't question what I did in there. Would recommend to anyone looking for food.

Great food at an affordable price. This was our first time so I'm not sure how consistent they are but the drive thru was bumpin. Yet the food came out pretty quick. The cashier seemed impatient but very sweet. We got a chicken finger combo with two sides instead of a drink, and a 2 piece dark meat combo. So a thigh, leg, 4 tenders, two mashed potatoes, corn nuggets and a corn on the cob. (Yes we're fat 😂). All that food for $22 😵‍💫🤤✨ Insane place I'm definitely gonna make this my go to lunch spot.

The food was fine, but the customer service was disappointing. When we asked for water cups (since we don’t drink soda), the cashier was kind enough to bring us regular cups because they were out. However, the manager, an older, larger Hispanic woman in a yellow shirt, told her in front of us to “make sure they get water.” That was extremely unprofessional and insulting. I’m a paying customer, not a child trying to sneak a soda. If this is how management treats guests, it really ruins the dining experience. Comments like that should be addressed in private, not in front of customers.

We tried Gill's for the first time recently and I'm so glad we did. The fried chicken was crisp and flavorfull and probably one of my favorites I've ever had! The steak were great also!

Tried to order ahead for pickup. The fish takes 15 minutes to cook. Was 20 min away. 2 workers didnt inderstand my simple small catfish with mashed potatoes order. I asked them to drop the fish and I would pay. I have done this many times in the past. Manager came on and took my order for 3rd time. She made excuses for the 2 employees. I started givong her my cc# and she kept interrupting saying she didnt understand then would repeat the number I had just said. So with great frustration over a simple treat for myself, I cancelled the almost order.
