“The Monomyth in Lubbock Texas: Nowadays I find myself in the Yee-Haw part of the state. That means that the coffee can double as paint thinner, and the coffee shops are designed off of prisons. Recently however, I had the chance to see an Don Giovanni in Lubbock Texas, where the person who played Don Octavio stole the show. He did nothing to help, and sang beautifully. Remarkable. While in Lubbock for my crossover episode with all the old Wesley +Laureen, we went to the Monomyth, a Coffee Shop. No only was the shop not a prison, but the coffee didn't come with its own chemical code. While that is all well and good, it invites something different to fill the gap, hipsters, and hipsters they were. Styled beards, flannel shirts, flared mustaches, light leather boots, jeans, and man buns. I felt as if I was behind enemy lines and it was difficult to get my bearings, so that I could order. I'm not fluent in hipster, but I can hold a conversion, so I was confident in my ability to order. "Should I do drip or bar" "We have a single origin Honduras on Bar" which caused Don Octavio's eyes to shoot out lasers and him to rip off his shirt revealing the Honduran Flag tatted on his chest. At least that's how I imagine he felt. "Sounds good, I'll have a latte" He corrected me, "You'll have a cap" And a cappuccino I had, and he was right it is what I wanted. I just didn't know. A near perfect barista experience where they can size me up and correct my order based on what they know they have and what they think I want and be correct about it. As for the drink itself, the milk was over steamed with visible bubbles, and while their was foam art it would have benefited from a slower initial pour. However, the espresso did a hard carry. The sweetness melded with the sour to make a thoroughly enjoyable drink. If I were to go again I would get just the espresso, the milk only took away from what I can surmise to be the unyielding power of Honduras.“

The staff are always so friendly and really make a point to try and remember you so you don’t feel like just another number walking through the door. “I had an amazing customer service experience this morning. I wish I would have asked her name. She was blonde with glasses and told me a captain Hook joke. She had a fantastic attitude that brightened my day. This is the best service I’ve ever had at Starbucks and probably any location in my life. She suggested her favorite refresher which is amazing and I got an egg white and spinach omelette wrap, and it was hot and fresh and it was so good. She suggested a side of Sriracha and everything just hit the spot. Thank you“

“Dutch Bros has been my favorite coffee shop since they opened in our area. When one opened off the Marsha Sharp freeway I was so excited because it is near my job. However this location is the only one that can never ever get my drink right and it saddens me. I always ask for an extra scoop of chocolate in my drink very simple but somehow they can never get it right at this location. I figured I'd try it again today I mean third time is usually the charm but nope just can't get it the way I like it at this location. I was even very specific, an extra scoop of chocolate mixed in with the chocolate base hot cocoa just to give it a little extra chocolatey taste. There is a Dutch Bros near my house even though it's a little bit out of my way but they always get my drink and right. As a matter of fact every other Dutch Bros that I have stopped by always gets my drink right excluding this one. I would rather go out of my way and get a drink that I am going to enjoy then to get a drink and then I am not going to enjoy it and that I do not even finish..“

“It's pretty much exactly what you would expect. Everything tastes great as far as drinks go, the prices are a bit high so I do not go every day(but would if I could).The food however is hot and miss, depending on the day and who is there I suppose.“

We did our gender reveal there a while back and I messaged corporate to tell them how great the crew was how much we appreciated them making this moment so special for us. I got a response back congratulating us and asking for our address so they could send us something. That something turned out to be two custom baby onsies and bib along with a handwritten note and some stickers. They are such a thoughtful company that cares about their employees and customers.
