Fun, historic site
Cute little park commemorating Shamrock, TX beginnings
This was a cool stop. Go at a time when the town isn't closed. We missed a lot due to the 4th of July closings but you can see this attractive lion any time. Plenty of parking and cool history.
Just a stop along you're Route 66 trip in Shamrock. Lots of photo ops in this little town. Check out the old Texaco station.
This town has residents who are truthfully proud of where they live
I was driving thru and stayed the night in shamrock and was so surprised to find this here. Super excited that Ireland shared this with us. Definitely worth stopping by and checking it out if your anywhere around the area.
Cool piece of history added to a great Route 66 town! Well worth a stop and photos!
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, especially when combined with a visit to the Tower Conoco station.

I went to Ireland and didn't go to Blarney Castle. So this was a special stop for me. They have it in a plaza now right off Main Street. Definitely stop to see it or kiss it, which is customary. As they say you will never be at a loss for words after you do so.
Neat display of unusual artifact and how it got here. Also explains town name

Be sure and check google maps... it's at a new location in the middle of town. This is one of those things you just need to see if your in Shamrock, TX. Quirky, but fun and it's now in a little setting all of it's own.
Briefly saw the Blarney stone (it seems over-rated) as we left Shamrock heading to the water tower its located near the plazza.
The Blarney Stone is essentially across the street from Water Tower Plaza, so it was an easy decision to visit it. It looks kind-of tired, but it had a picnic table where we enjoyed lunch. A welcome respite. The Blarney Stone had a sign, but could use more explanation to the uninitiated.
Rests in a cute little plaza right off Main Street. Gives a little history of how it came to be there. Tables and benches there made it for a great place to stop to feed our little one before we went on the road again.
