U Drop Inn Cafe Reviews
Friendly staff and absolutely delicious food!! We have been twice as we travel from Missouri to New Mexico. We will definitely be making it a point to stop on our travels!! 100 % recommend!
We recently had a celebratory dinner at the U Drop Inn Cafe during a Route 66 Road Trip. Lianne and the staff were very friendly, the food and service were great. Lianne & and Teresa went above and beyond for us to make it a special dinner. Loved being there to see the neon light up at night too! Thanks for keeping this landmark going and serving great meals!
My brother and I stopped in the café on 12/20 on our road trip. We had a lovely chat with the owner for a while while enjoying our meals (brisket and meatloaf sandwiches). Great place to take a walk back in time to old Route 66. If you like to support small businesses you should stop in on your way through Shamrock TX.

U Drop Inn Cafe is a charming, dog-friendly stop along Route 66, famous for its iconic art deco building and neon lights that glow at night. This historic cafe, once visited by Elvis Presley, offers a variety of great food and desserts, including the well-known Route 66 soda. The cafe also features a souvenir shop, a jukebox, and collectibles, making it a popular destination. Visitors often find this nostalgic gem so appealing that they want to return again and again, especially when the neon lights are shining brightly in the evening. The staff is friendly and welcoming, sharing the rich history of the place, which adds to the overall experience. Customers have enjoyed homemade food such as brisket salad, meatloaf, veggies, pasta salad, and, of course, the PIE. Many praise the good food and friendly service, with some mentioning the incredible pulled pork sandwich and chocolate meringue pie. The building offers fun photo opportunities, especially of the Elvis booth and exterior, making it a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Route 66. Outdoor amenities include Tesla Superchargers and water fountains for both humans and dogs, ensuring a comfortable visit. Recent visitors have raved about the real BBQ, with the BBQ pulled pork and brisket being some of the best they’ve had, and the breakfast burrito receiving high praise. The owners and staff are known for their excellent customer service, making every visit memorable.
