I had been here once before. Years ago, pre-plandemic. I checked online to verify it was still open Visited late afternoon. The place is fairly small- maybe 20-25 tables. There was a couple but they left minutes later. I ordered a cacao drink, because I asked if they had zanahoria-naranja (carrot-orange) drink and they did not. For dinner, I ordered the "cerdo asado", broiled pork meal. It also comes with green fried plantains, sweet plantains "maduro", nicaraguan style cole slaw, and "gallopinto", which is a uniquely nicaraguan mix of rice and beans, and fried cheese. The portion was large. I kept a portion of the broiled pork to take home. Everything was delicious. Broiled pork was juicy and tender.

Came here for my birthday dinner with my friends and family and words can't describe how great our experience was. Living in Houston there is not much Nicaraguan places around but compared to Miami This place is 100% authentic and the ambiance makes you feel like you are actually sitting in the city of Granada vibing to Palo de mayo and traditional Nicaraguan music The food is family style tastes just like home and is so good every bite you take makes you hungrier! Melissa took great care of us and made us all feel like we are at home. We want to go back already! Highly recommended

My bf always wanted to take me here but I thought I wasn't going to like the food. Until we went two weeks ago, and let's just be honest. It was very chaotic since it is not that big inside, or has a lot of parking. BUT, the food is worth it. I love the carne de res with the gallo pintos, salad, etc. It is so good. Also the maracuya juice is so good ( I'm picky) and it tasted AMAZING. I love this place, we even went back this sunday and a man was singing inside, and he sang pretty nice. I would even have this food at my own wedding.

The parillada was amazing! It had everything. We loved everything in it. Pork, steak, taquitos, yuca, and two types of plantains. I also loved the rice and black beans at the center.

Por la pandemia más de 18 meses de no ir a un restaurante NICA. Gracias a la recomendación de una colega de Houston quien me recomendó La Fritanga Carreta. El servicio fue rápido y placentero. Pedi cacao y al darme la opción del tamaño pedí el grande el cual resultó gigante! El cacao estaba muy original, riquísimo! También disfruté mucho el salpicón. La porción es fue grande. También ordene un nacatamal para llevar y también estaban en su punto. Pidan el chilito para llevar. El sabor es el mismo que recuerdo desde niña. Fue una agradable sorpresa encontrar comida nicaragüense auténtica en Houston. Muchas gracias

Being as though there are very few Nicaraguan restaurant wanted to try this out. First, the wait time to get the food was over an hour. secondly, the place was a dive in spot, so you'll have to get over the cleanse of the restaurant. Lastly, food wasn't all that great the meat was over cooked, the rice had minimum flavor, and fried cheese wasn't good at all. Definitely just a one time visit type of spot. Not worth it.
