Went to the location in Porter, TX. First off the young man at the front counter was very nice and friendly. I ordered the 1/4 pound burger and then waited a while for our food to arrive, I’m not even exaggerating the burger was smaller than a McDonald’s kids meal. The top bun was also burnt, I asked the employee if I could get my food remade he told me that “Uncle Tony” said no. Not one time did the owner even acknowledge me that I had a problem with my visit. Amazing! Absolutely Amazing!
The woman serving me was rude from the first moment I encountered her. She had only one other customer at the time (early Saturday afternoon at Deacon Baldy’s) and acted irritated to take my order for a cheeseburger without pickles. When we got my burger, it was slathered in mushrooms (which I never eat on burgers) and insisted to my husband that I had specifically asked for mushrooms. Based on the reviews, New York Subs & Wings is a hidden gem with great food and friendly service. The burgers are excellent, absolutely amazing, juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The Cajun fries are well-seasoned, crispy, and addictive. The peri peri chicken is perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat, and the garlic herb sauce is delicious, especially when mixed with the mango sauce. The Texas Cheesesteak is wonderful, and the hand cut fries are perfectly crunchy. The ice cream is a perfect way to end the meal. The food quality has perfect temperature, flavor, and crispness. Everything tastes fresh and well-made with great portions at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is clean and the customer service is outstanding. The host is humorous, likable, and friendly, and the cook likes to come out and talk with customers. No one is a stranger here.
