“Absolutely everything we tried here impressed us immensely. Obviously, this is a neighborhood and family favorite, demonstrated by several items being sold out by 10:30 am. Tried poppy and sesame bagels, one a pizza bagel, the other a Lox with roasted garlic cream cheese, minus the salmon. The chocolate rugelah was butter and flakey and to die for. Will be coming back again!“

“I have tried every pastrami place in Austin. This is clearly the best. Imagine tender pastrami with a BBQ bark from Opies. Put it in a sandwich and bam. Quick service. Kinda a flash mob right after me about noon but I think they can handle it. Update 4 years later still amazing“

“I was feeling super homesick today. This place hit the spot. Walked in and felt right at home. It’s a medley of NJ’s general stores, Jewish delis, and Greek Diners all rolled into one. The atmosphere was so comforting, the staff were friendly and upbeat, and the food was perfect. I had a cup of soup, a Pastrami Reuben, and a slice of carrot cake. Whoever’s working the griddle is on point. Everything was delicious. Portions are huge—expect to have leftovers. They’re family owned and you can feel the love. Really glad I found this spot.“

“Had a random craving for a classic egg salad sandwich. Checked out DoorDash and saw how incredibly affordable the sandwiches were at Murphy’s. So we ordered several sandwiches to try!Let me tell you, these were fantastic. Absolutely classic American egg salad sammy. Not sure the type of bread used (some type of whole grain or white bread with grains), but however they prepared it, whether it was grilled or toasted, it was phenomenal. Also ordered the tuna salad sandwich. The tuna salad itself was good, just hoping they can put it on the same type of bread as the egg salad next time. Definitely will try again!“

“I discovered this place a long time ago and hadn't been there in since before the pandemic. My mistake! They have some of the absolute best sandwiches and prepared meals you're going to find in Austin. No joke! It's a casual little deli with not a ton of seating. Show up at lunchtime and you'll have a long line because the regulars know this place and come back often. The sandwich selection is nice and they'll customize any sandwich anyway you want it. I had one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I've ever eaten there today. There's a nice selection of breads and additions. They have all sorts of great prepared meals like chicken pot pie, King Ranch casserole. They also make really excellent empanadas. I brought home a chicken pot pie empanada to have for dinner today.Least I forget, there's incredible baking going on there. They have the best chocolate eclairs I've eaten in Austin. Many other homemade right there desserts. Unfortunately I don't eat sugar anymore, so I can just stare at them with desire.Try this little, hidden gem, you will not be sorry!“
