We were visiting Surfsid beach for the first time and came across this bar nearby, hoping to enjoy some live music and a relaxing night. Sadly, we were met with immediate judgment. Within just 30 seconds of walking in, before we had even ordered a drink, the bartender (a white woman with short black hair and tattoos) decided we were “too drunk” to be served. All we did was ask the band if they were doing karaoke and walk toward the bar.
Our designated driver, who was completely sober and only planned to have one drink all night, was the one attempting to order, but we were still denied service. When I tried to remove the tip I had left, the bartender dismissed me with a “thank you for the tip” and walked away, claiming to be the manager and showing no interest in hearing us out or making things right.
We were calm, seated, and respectful meanwhile, others around us were clearly being louder and showing more signs of intoxication. It’s hard not to wonder if we were treated differently because of what we look like. (Racism) That kind of treatment not only ruined what could’ve been a fun night, but left us feeling humiliated and singled out. I hope the staff reflects on how quick assumptions and lack of accountability can genuinely hurt people who did nothing wrong.
To the bartender: if you’re going to manage a space where people come to unwind and feel welcome, it’s worth asking yourself why you felt so justified in making assumptions about us so quickly. A little self-reflection could go a long way… because the way you treat people matters more than you think.

The burger was GREAT! We ordered onion rings but received fries. The fries were good but really wanted to try the onion rings. The server was good, not real sociable, didn't talk or smile much but she did a good job. If you like a bar type atmosphere, sharkies is a place to try. Most definitely get the cheese burger..you won't be disappointed

The food was delicious, definitely my favorite part. big huge quarter pounder, enjoyed every part. also has great views of the ocean and some other entertainment such as a pool table. Good lunch

First time visitors to Freeport. Just got into town and wanted to grab a bite with my wife and son. Stopped in at another establishment (Seahorse) and met the rudest hostess so we left. So…we decided to try one more place before we just went home, and we stopped at Sharkies! Soooo glad we did. Kala was working the bar and she was our server. She was sooo kind and pleasant to talk to. I could not have asked for a better experience!!! Food was great, drinks were amazing, and I could not recommend this place enough to anyone! Close to the beach, cool atmosphere, great food and drinks and amazing staff! (Kala) Thank you for taking such great care of us!!!

There with some friends after a surf session so we were pretty hungry. It was my first time there so I was a bit disappointed that the establishment was mainly a Bar- with a kitchen that cooked burgers and such. I ordered basic two burger combos for my friend and I. Since there were no fries, I opted for the onion rings option (which were a skimpy four (4) rings that were small in size ??? for the "combo"...though, at least .the two individual orders of onion rings were a better sized order). For two burger combos and two individual orders of onion rings, my bill was a startling $43! I'm not cheap by any means, though it seemed a bit steep for what I got. The orders of XX beers hit the spot though Hopefully, this is not viewed as a bad review; just an honest one. I don't think we'll revisit Sharkies
