“We decided to check out this place for breakfast. The espresso machine was broken but another disappointment was that they serve their coffee in paper or plastic cups what totally ruin the experience to me. We ordered ehh Benedict’s, they were overcooked although tasted good. It was served with fresh spinach what was nice. We also hit a breakfast burrito and pancakes. The hit of the place was the roadrunner. Chubby bird that acted like he was at home lol (I’m sure he was lol)”
“Our go to place for cocktails after a day of hiking. Friendly staff and just a laid back cool place to hang out. Thanks Gumby!”

“Great hot beverage options, even for tea drinkers. I didn’t think the food choices were great, which was a bummer. The bagel seemed like it was from a grocery store and it was just package oatmeal. The kolaches were pretty good. Overall, I was mostly happy that we could get good coffee and tea.”

“I moved here nearly 2 months ago and this is our favorite place to grab a bite and catch some great local music. The staff is phenomenal, greet you warmly, and no matter how busy…they are on top of it! The service is fast and friendly, the pizza is so good and lots of talented musicians lined up every week!!! Y’all rock, I recommend guests to visit y’all when they’re visiting the Big Bend area.”

“We ate there with a group of 11. Alex was our server and did a fabulous job. Based on the feedback, everyone's food was delicious! The manager and the chef came out to be sure we were all satisfied. I would definately go back.”

“The area is next to golf resort and they do a great job of making it seem like you’re not in the desert. Not a very good place if you’re looking for culture, but the food and service was amazing.”

“A great end to our days of long hiking the Big Bend area. Both nights we dined we were personally seated by the head Chef. We felt welcome from our first steps in to the very end of service. The patio offers great shade and beautiful views. The food was excellent and consistently good both nights. I highly recommend to any future visitors of Lajitas!”

“The reviews that are negative are older. Since new management took over there have been major renovations and improvements to this property and there is more ongoing and planned for the future. The management and team really care and are working hard to make this a great experience for those who stay and camp here. The lodge buildings are being repainted and renovated and the campground looks wonderful and is clean. There are wonderful views of the surrounding desert and mountains. Plus, there’s a convenient restaurant, store and gas station on site as well as tours and horseback riding and it’s convenient to the park and ghost town!”

“Excellent food, excellent service. A recent remodel make it 'interesting' fir people who have been there before but it doesn't affect the quality of the food - excellent - or service.”

“High Sierra Bar & Grill is a must-stop if you’re anywhere near Ghost Town, Texas. The margaritas are some of the best I’ve had—perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and just the right kick. Their tostadas were fresh, flavorful, and generously topped—definitely recommend trying them. What really makes this place special, though, is the atmosphere. It’s incredibly welcoming, laid-back, and full of character. They’re also super pet-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. Our pup was treated like family and felt right at home on the patio. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind—hospitality at its finest. Whether you’re just passing through or staying in the area, High Sierra offers a great taste of local charm with good food, strong drinks, and even stronger vibes.”

“Such a fun place! We were looking for a breakfast spot that opened by 7AM for an early drive out of town. This place is light, airy, and very unique. The food was all delicious including the breakfast burrito, smoothie, and avocado toast. Coffee was good but there is no espresso or espresso drinks, which felt surprising given the vibe of the restaurant. There are also lots of unique gifts for sale.”
