We were greeted by owners Rob and Amy, who gave us a warm welcome and a tour of this hidden gem overlooking Lake Lewisville—and let me tell you, the view alone is worth the visit.
Drinks hit the table fast, and after a long day podcasting at DFW distilleries, my wife ordered the “Smash That” bourbon cocktail, while I cooled off with a bold and refreshing Texas Mule. Both hit the spot.
Then came the Hillview Court Bean Dip—courtesy of Rob and Amy—and it was smashing delicious. Rich, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal.
I went with a perfectly seared prime ribeye, served with fresh veggies and a crisp salad. Cooked just right, packed with flavor. My wife ordered the Thai Shrimp Tacos, and that sauce? It made them pop—a spicy-sweet punch that brought the dish to life.
We closed the night with homemade cheesecake and their decadent bourbon bread pudding—a dessert pairing that could make a grown man tear up.
And to finish? A pour of Eagle Rare 12 Year while the sun dipped behind the lake—a true Texas sunset, a full belly, and great company. That’s what I call an amazing night.
The live music was the perfect match for the setting—local artists with a little blues in their soul, laid-back and smooth, filling the lakeside air without ever overpowering the moment.
If you’re a whiskey lover like Big Chief, this place is a must—whether you’re from the DFW area or just passing through. Hands down the best bourbon bar in Dallas.

Unfortunately our experience wasn’t pleasant, from start to finish! My husband and I chose to visit this location after a long few hours at the local mineral spa! It was late, after 9 but the place was packed still so we thought it was going to be as stellar as the reviews boasted! Sadly, we were seated outdoors as asked but we sat for 10-15 min without even being recognized, until a young waitress waltzed from the indoor dining to ask us what we’d like to drink. From there, it was shitty service for the duration of our stay, the food was subpar and after feeling ignored many times, we chose to tough it out despite the service display in the first 10 minutes! It was late, but had we been closer to home and more familiar with the area I can assure you we’d not have eaten at this establishment and for certainty we will NEVER return!
Not only did we get the worst service, but everyone else was treated and greeted rather quickly, made to feel warm and as if their service mattered while we watched it all happen; we did not feel that vibe and for that we know we won’t be back!

Wow! What a fantastic place and with awesome lake and sunset views!
All the food was delicious and fresh! Fried pickles, hummus/chips/salsa, Cajun chicken pasta were very nice. The desserts were exceptional- whiskey bread pudding and chocolate cake.
The views are amazing, get there before sunset to get the best view. The service was super friendly, quick and courteous. The bar drinks were super nice! Spicy Paloma, Basil Hayden Old fashioned 🥂

If you aren't coming here for brunch, you are missing out! They don't open until 10am, but have become one of our favorite spots for Saturday brunch. The food is excellent and our servers are wonderful!

This place is a hidden gem in The Colony! The owners are such wonderful people and the food is beyond DELICIOUS! The service is 5 ⭐️ and they provide the most welcoming atmosphere. They also have a beautiful “Rustic Chic” party parlor upstairs gor special events. Listen, exceeded our expectations for our daughters graduation party! I cannot say ENOUGH about how AMAZING this place. Danny the manager is beyond the BEST and runs a tight ship ensuring that you dining experience is enjoyable. I cannot recommend this place ENOUGH! Always a great experience and a pleasure to to dine here! We eat there at least once a month! Love…Love… LOVE!

Rackhouse is a great default lunch spot for us on our weekly Friday work lunch when we're not sure of what else to get. They have a great lunch menu (used to be $10, now $12) that's worth the price, plus a great selection of beer.

I was so excited to have a view like this when my boyfriend and I went for drinks this week. I kept complaining to him that I felt like I couldn’t see anything pretty in this area, so this was so great to see. We ended up getting a buffalo chicken dip and that did taste pretty great, too. The service was a little slow since we were outside, but everyone was really nice and accommodating. My boyfriend actually accidentally left his card and they were really nice when we went back looking for it (they had it yay!). They had live music outside and the guy sounded great! The reason I am giving 4 stars, and this may sound dumb, is the fans outside had water/mist coming from them. It was a sensory nightmare. It was blowing right onto our table and faces. They tried to sit some people out there and they literally said no take us back inside because of the fan situation. I put up with it because the view and music were so great, but oh my god please turn off the mist.

Visited them for a Birthday dinner and sat on the patio with Sunset view. It was amazing! Ordered Moz bites and buffalo cauliflower with a side of mashed potatoes.
We have been eating here since they opened. Everything we have tried has been excellent and the service has always been very good.

I can't say enough about how amazing my visit was. I had the pleasure of having Grace as my server. She was extremely pleasant and made sure my visit was exceptional. And the view from the deck was incredible. I'll definitely be back!

We just had a party for my best friend’s 40th birthday here this past weekend. I could not recommend this establishment enough!! From the private room and patio to all management who listened and made her dreams come true to the waitstaff. Sydney and Dakota worked the party behind the bar and were so amazing! Sydney was so fun and creative with her drink specials! The food was amazing! The patio was perfect for sunset “golden hour” photos. They have AV hook up, supplied linen table cloths and were so accommodating with every request! I absolutely will have another party here.
