Cafe Express The Woodlands

I’m honestly confused by the great reviews for this place. My guess is that many of them are from people ordering takeout and not actually spending time inside the restaurant.

The first time I came in to pick up an order, there was a strong sewage-like odor throughout the restaurant. It was near closing time, and an employee was mopping, so I assumed it was related to cleaning or the restrooms.

Two weeks later, I returned for another pickup and was hit with the same awful smell. This time I wondered if it was something being cooked, but it was hard to ignore. I mentioned it to my wife afterward, and she was so put off by the description that she barely touched her food.

A few weeks later, I had my wife go inside to pick up our order because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me. She came back to the car and immediately said the smell was unbearable. In fact, she wanted to return the food and leave.

The food has always been good, which makes this even more disappointing. But after three separate visits and the exact same experience each time, we won’t be coming back. Whatever is causing that odor needs to be addressed immediately. It’s difficult to understand how employees work in those conditions, and it’s even harder to enjoy a meal when the smell is that overwhelming.

Great food, but the odor inside the restaurant is one of the worst I’ve ever encountered. Please get it fixed.

Dependable, high-quality food when you need it most
I’ve visited this Cafe Express location on multiple occasions—including late-night hospital visits when I just needed a good meal—and they never disappoint. The food is classic, made-to-order, and consistently flavorful.
They have a great variety on the menu, ranging from healthy, fresh salads to classic hamburgers and comforting soups. Their desserts are also dependably good every time. I’m giving them a 5-star rating for cleanliness; the restaurant is always well-maintained. It’s a solid 4-star dining experience overall for anyone looking for a quality, reliable meal in the Woodlands area.

I’ve been here a couple of times and really hope this place sticks around. Fresh, healthy and relatively fast food. Salads, sandwiches and some hot entrees as well. Clean atmosphere and the staff is pleasant.

This place is awesome all around! The people are great. The food is awesome. The flavor is just right. Never had an issue with the food and service. Price is excellent, too. Highly recommend.

I was trying this place for the first time. I got the Amalfi chicken with mashed potatoes. It was very good. I will definitely be visiting them again to try out more of what they have to offer.
