If you're looking for a fancy dining experience, this is not the place. Mama Olivo is an old-fashioned Mexican restaurant that serves up incredible dishes. If you want authentic, delicious, mouth-watering Menudo & Pozole or a host of other dishes cooked up by the Mexican staff, you'll have to drop in. You dont have to speak Spanish but this is the place to practice up if you're a little rusty. Show up hungry.
Three stars is generous for this place. The food is so bland, a microwave dinner has more flavor. The service was good, the aqua fresca was good, but thats it. This food tastes like it was made for an old folks home. The salsa is basically tomato soup, there are no recognizable tomatoes onions or cilantro in it. The chips should be good, they look legit, but are so hard I thought I bit into a rock at one point. The beef again has zero flavor and the tortillas hardly had any...
This place was such a pleasant surprise for us. The breakfast plate was loaded with eggs bacon and all the fixings prepared as requested. The shrimp cocktail was full of all the good stuff! The pazole was like the best homemade I have ever had. I highly recommend this
