My wife and I especially enjoyed the fried mushrooms. My grilled salmon was a little bit salty, but otherwise well cooked with a nice outer crust. My wife thought the chicken alfredo was ok. Not the best she's had, not the worst. However, it was served almost boiling hot. We both enjoyed the New York cheesecake. The service was very good, and the atmosphere is warm with lots of rich wood finishes.

An incredible find in Tyler TX! If I lived here, would be a favorite for us. Food freshness, plating and phenomenal flavors. Service was excellent. The restaurant itself is such a nice place. A+++

Food was good at a very reasonable price. Our waitress was personable and helpful regarding the items on the menu, and gave us her honest opinion. I would definitely go back!

Thank you Danny for returning my call & confirming an indoor bar table for my party of 6. Everything was great & we all enjoyed our dinner & meet up with great friends!

Grilled Redfish with drawn butter was outstanding, as were the au gratin potatoes. Service by Cadence was outstanding. This restaurant is an icon in Tyler.

We brought some friends who had never been to Rick's and they enjoyed it immensely. We love the ambiance and the food is always delicious. Each time my husband and I have come, our servers are great. We even had the opportunity on one visit to meet Rick, which was a hoot. Nice guy.

Had a great time 2/14/2025 (Valentine's Day). This was our first time at Rick's. Our server was outstanding and I will ask for Kadence when we go back. We both had the small filet which was cooked prefect. So tender I could cut it with a fork. Also had the combo appetizer which was very good. I will try their seafood on our next visit.

We had dinner and listened to the live band. The place has a nice upscale atmosphere while also embracing casual. Very comfortable and classy! A great place for a date night.

Rick’s didn’t live up to the hype for me. We’ve been to see bands so were excited to try the food but we were left underwhelmed. I wasn’t expecting gourmet or anything but this was chain restaurant quality. Also, why is everything stuffed with angel hair? To cut costs? The server was dry and uninterested but so am I so I didn’t mind. My wife, however, did. The food wasn’t terrible but “not terrible” really isn’t ideal, is it? Maybe we’ll try again in the future and I’ll make different selections but for now, Rick’s is mid in my book.

I was in town for a comedy show amongst other strip club vistations. I decided to continue my buzz at Rick’s, Teddy Rosevelt’s favorite bar, to find myself situated in downtown. I was surprised by the topless servers and massive nips. $5 buckets of miller lite all night can’t complain. Will be back.

Edit:Apologies. I thought I was leaving a reviewfor Rick’s Caberet in Dallas.

However I have visited this bar in Tyler in the past and it was truly a delightful experience. There was live music in one room and table service in the next with a huge screen with the game on. I’ll be back there too!

We ate lunch here last week and the food was good but the service left quite a bit to be desired. The problem was mainly that it took so long to get our food, specifically about 40 minutes. We had arrived there at around 2:00 and we were about the only people in the restaurant so the explanation could not have been that they were busy. The server did not check in on us very often nor did he offer any explanation as to why it was taking so long to receive our order. My chicken fried chicken was very good but there just was not very much of it for the price. The mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious as were the green beans.

Rick’s in downtown Tyler is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of atmosphere, quality, and service. Upon entering, you’re immediately greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the tone for an exceptional experience. The well Jameson’s is a standout—smooth, rich, and served with care, providing the perfect complement to their wide selection of drinks. For those who prefer something refreshing, the Miller Lites are ice-cold and crisp, ideal for a casual yet refined night out.

The culinary offerings are equally impressive. The chicken nachos, in particular, are a must-try. Generously portioned and layered with tender, perfectly seasoned chicken, they’re an irresistible mix of flavors and textures. The combination of gooey cheese, fresh toppings, and a touch of spice elevates this dish beyond standard bar fare.

Overall, Rick’s is an exquisite place to unwind and enjoy both impeccable drinks and a delicious meal, all in a setting that feels both lively and laid-back.

Was there with Phil and Jake tonight. Sadly I missed the nips because I was in the bathroom. Nachos were good. Will be back. (Hopefully I’ll see nip next time!)
