Heritage East at Culture ETX is a highly regarded restaurant known for its purposeful and creative dishes. The chef combines southern classics with new techniques, making each meal special. Guests often praise the food for being excellent and made from scratch, with popular choices like the thighs and fries, chicken and waffle, and chicken pot pie receiving high recommendations. The restaurant offers a unique experience, including a speakeasy called The Painted Rabbit, which transports visitors back to Chicago in the 1920s. The speakeasy menu is full, and cocktails such as the smoked old fashioned and Cloud 9 are highly appreciated. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, providing top-notch service, with some reviews highlighting the in-house sommelier and servers who take the time to explain the menu. Despite ongoing construction around the area, visitors find it worth the effort to walk a block or more to reach the restaurant, citing the fun atmosphere, great vibe, and delicious food as reasons to visit. Reservations are recommended, especially to enjoy the full menu and the speakeasy experience. Overall, Heritage East is praised as a hidden gem with a welcoming atmosphere and memorable meals.
