“This was our first time going here. We had heard good things about it. We had the boudin burger and I have to say it was yummy! Slightly spicy , great taste. Also had sweet potatoes fries. The y were good a bit over cooked but still good! A nice change from the average burger places. We will definitely go back. Price wise, not bad, 3 burgers and 2 fries about $44 dollar's. I guess waits can be long if they are busy, but I believe you can call in order and pick up if you don't want to sit in your car and wait. Definitely worth a try!!“

“Had the Hula Hula pizza. I agree with the raving reviews, it was excellent. Ordered the large and a cheesecake for later. The reviews are “dead on spot”, amazing is my interpretation and the cheesecake was the best l have had in my almost 70 years. I could actually taste and feel the texture of the cheesecake. Wow! Called in my order, he had just set it in top of the oven as l was walking in. The young lady got my cheesecake, put napkins in my bag and l was set for three meals. WOW!“

“Young man serving beans and ice cream had his bare hands in trash can, running hands through his hair and cut his finger on ice cream bucket. Never once did I see him wash his hands. He went from pushing trash down to serving food. Combing his hair with hands then scooping ice cream. Come on, man!“

I was intrigued by their story as a family-owned business, their evident pride in their work, and their commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. Touring the facility, I was amazed at their growth and resilience in overcoming challenges. “As you enter, you are promptly greeted. We had a reservation, which due to traffic we were a little late. That being said we were seated immediately. Indoors every table has a view of the kitchen. The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable, and were able to answer any questions about the menu. I had the Crab cake Hush Puppies to start. Nice large hunks of lump crab in a moist, and fried to perfection batter. Accompanied with a slightly spicy remoulade. For my entree I went with a Blue crab Claw Ravioli. The balance of this dish I cannot even put into words. Talking with Chef Lance after the meal, and observing him at work. You can see and feel his passion for his chosen art. Just when you think your experience can't get any better, a walk to the back of the restaurant. A doorway marked "janitors closet" hides a secret entrance to the Speakeasy. I highly recommend a visit, should you find yourself anywhere near Tyler Texas!!“

“Very good food and service! I ordered the "lunch special" with pork chops, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The chops were nice and juicy, with brown gravy. If I would have known how big they were, I would have ordered the "senior"pork chop, which came with only 1 chop. I couldnt finish it all. The potatoes were instant, but very well seasoned. The only thing that kept me from giving the food 5 stars, was the green beans were still a little crunchy. My wife ordered the senior CFS; It was large enough that she could only eat half. It was a frozen, pretty breaded patty, but very tasty. The cream gravy was from a mix, but tasted like Pioneer mix, which I think is the best mix out there. We will return next time we are in Tyler, as I want to sample the Mexican menu.“

Those reviews must have been from a long time ago. I was there with a large party on a very busy night and the food was very good and the service was great. I would definitely go there again.“

“after moving here from California 6 years ago it's been very difficult to find a restaurant that serves a good menudo. I've tried many many places. yesterday my husband picked up my menudo order from El Jilo, brought it home, and I finally found it. you make the best menudo. so flavorful and full of tripe, just delicious. in addition, fresh homemade corn tortillas. you can't beat it. will be coming back for sure.“

BBQ shrimp was more like boiled shrimp and crawfish tails with a thin sauce?? Google said $10-20 per person. We paid $30 per person with no alcohol, appetizers or steaks (other than fajita meat).“
